Which of the players' wives does Kesler bang first? I'm guessing Perry's or Getzlaf's, just to show he means business.

Bonino is a 2nd/3rd line tweener, Sbisa IMO is a 3rd pairing guy. Guess he's young though, so 2nd pairing potential? If they use the 24th overall to select a player, then I love this trade (as a Flames fan).
If they use the 24th overall to get #1 or #2 this year, then I hate this trade (as a Flames fan).

I think if the Canucks trade up to 1st they'll draft reinhart. We should push up to second to guarantee ekblad.

Would have liked the 10th instead of 24
I hope Benning uses 24 to move us in to 1st though
happy with Bonino
Sbisa is decent, I imagine Garrison is gone now to Tampa

Not sure what people are worried about Vancouver moving up to first overall lol. A 6th and 24th and a hip replaced Shattinkirk won't get it done. Tallons not an idiot. As for the trade it looks pretty good on Vancouver they get a few decent pieces plus a pick.

Canucks are a worse team today...and didn't get any prospects except potentially 24th which is a really iffy pick in this draft. How can anyone say its a good deal for van?

The sticking point here is the Coilers. If they didn't expect Ekblad to drop into their laps maybe they pick him over Leon.
But if they have Leon #1 on their list as is rumoured, Van moving up and picking Reinhart could be very good news for us (except for the part where Van gets a great player).
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

not a great return.
i assume now that the nucks are involved in something to move up based on that alone.

Decent pieces for your best player IMO is a bad trade 100/100 times and the value of the 24th in this draft is pretty low. Honestly how would Flames fans feel if this was the return for Iginla when he was 30 with years still left on an affordable deal? Kessler isn't Iginla but he's still the Canucks best overall player.

Hahaha it's obviously a downgrade.
That said, Nick Bonino is on a 1.9M cap hit until 2018 and Sbisa has a season left at 2.1. So they still get a top 6 player back, get a serviceable NHL defender in Sbisa who could be a #4 guy (hard to tell, recent injury issues), and in doing so, shave $1M off their cap. Plus a late first.
So I will say this. It is not a bad return for Vancouver. It is not a slam dunk, either. And Anaheim wins the trade at the outset on basic assumption because they got the best player - although that was never in doubt here.
What it really does is indicate where the new Canucks brass wants to take this. They are not re-building. If they did, the deal would look more like the rumoured "10th overall + 24th overall + Etem" return. They have aimed at getting younger, but not THAT much younger. Sbisa is 24, Bonino's 26. Last year they acquired Matthias, who's 27. They apparently think they can still be competitive. That seems an error to me, but time will tell.
Interesting to see if they're done because I wouldn't be surprised if there's more coming.

The Canucks are a worse team today than they were last year and that scares me. With next years draft so loaded at the top I don't want another team in the Mcdavid etc sweepstakes.
