How much of a big deal is it to go undrafted in the NBA?

Well it's not ideal, but a good chunk of the undrafted players will get camp invites and will get scouted during the summer leagues. It's not out of the question that a player could improve and fight their way onto an NBA roster.

No idea who this Brazilian guy is, feels like the Flames taking Jankowski. I REALLY like those second round picks, Daniels was a great piece for UCONN and I'm a big Xavier Thames fan. Best player for a good SDSU team, and a good leader. I saw them play in the tournament in Spokane last March and he single handedly killed North Dakota. I'm more geeked about the second rounders than Bruno.

That was a really good video but only one game.

-Huge wingspan.
-Needs confident handling the ball
-Needs to develop a lot on D (right now gets away with his reach but NBA players are bigger and faster).
-Excellent shot
-Can drive the ball

Good and bad but I really hope they can bring him over this year and put him in D league.

So, I'm a Knicks fan I guess!

Kind of fitting as Early is a Brooklyn kid and former Shocker Toure' Murry is on the roster as well.

Will be interesting to see in the next couple of years if/when Ron Baker and Fred Van Vleet get picked.

In this article, you could pretty much substitute Casey's name with Feaster's and Caboclo's name with Jankowski's and it is deja vu from 2012. http://www.tsn.ca/nba/story/?id=455835

Ujiri has quite a bit of goodwill built up so I doubt that he will be as heavily criticized as Feaster was but if things turn south for the Raptors, this could certainly work against him.

Meh, he's already done a lot of good things (getting rid of Gay and Bargnani's massive contracts). If th 20th pick busts its no big deal imo.

Ujiri has to do some pretty bad things to have people turn on him. He got the Raptors out of Colangelo's dumpster fire ridiculously fast. I don't think people are all that upset with the pick per se, they're upset where it was made. Probably could have moved back and gotten him...or maybe they knew someone had targetted him in the 25-30 range. They wanted Ennis and when that didn't work out they probably took the guy they thought had the highest upside after that.

I was watching the draft until after the Raptors went all strange and picked that Bruno kid. Did they get caught up with World Cup fever or something. Such an odd pick. Especially for their first.

The NBA and NHL drafts are so different that you can't really compare Bruno to Jankowski. Picks outside the lottery in the NBA have significantly less value then in the NHL because it is much less common to find players that can contribute over the long haul. Taking a boom/bust pick at 20 in the NBA has much less risk then the NHL.

Here's an Isaiah Austin vid. Great job by the NBA.

Jason Kidd has some stones to ask the Nets higher-ups to give him a promotion to above the GM after only one year of coaching. Good gracious his ego is out of control.

Bucks will trade for Kidd for a 2nd round pick. Yes, the Bucks will give away a 2nd round pick so that they can get Kidd the coach, not the player. The Nets can't give Kidd the coach and his mult-year guaranteed salary away and now they can get a 2nd round pick in return.

Is there a bigger farce in the entire sporting world? And you wonder the Bucks had been and continue to be the butt end of jokes.

Kidd is such a dick. He shouldn't have been given the chance to begin with and to try and pull a quick one shows what type of greedy individual he is. It would have been nice if Brooklyn could fire him without having to pay his salary. He's truly an egomaniac.

Kidd is not the Bucks coach and will wield significant power of the team. He is now the official Isiah Thomas replacement in the front office.
