Italy played awful and the Costa Ricans really impressed me. That being said, and I mean this with no disrespect to Costa Rica, but if Italy can't beat them, then they have no chance at doing well in this tournament anyway.

What does it take for CONCACAF to get another qualifying spot for future World Cups?

I'm guessing these results are helping. Goooooo CONCACAF!

Apparently the new tags have been added to all the World Cup threads... I'm gonna guess this is KFF's handiwork.

It's been make the Final or out in the Group Stage for France the past few World Cups. Looking very impressive right now.

Ouch on the penalty call. Seems crazy in comparison to the call missed earlier today.

Great save though. Soccer gods today!

The tiebreaker is straight goal differences.

Both Italy and Uruguay have 3 points
Goal Difference:
Italy are 2-2 = 0
Uruguay are 3-4 = -1

Therefore Italy only needs a draw against Uruguay in the last game to advance.

This is why Italy were defending their 1-0 deficit. If Italy tied the game it would have made no difference. If they gave up another goal they would have been 2-3 = -1 and it would have been them who would have to win the last game.

It could easily be 5 or 6-0 right now, this is pure domination.

It was a mistake not putting Baertschi on the team. Also Berra looks terrible.

Can't tell if France is this good or the Swiss defence is that bad. Maybe a bit of both?
