I like him and I've never even heard rumblings that he was causing problems. Didn't Monahan specifically name him as one of the veterans that made him feel welcome?

I do know Cammalleri did this for Gaudreau and Arnold. I say keep him. I like what he said about Montreal, it's not like anyone outside of Montreal can argue with what he said, and he obviously prefers a hard-working atmosphere like we have on the Flames. Or are we trusting Habs bloggers on character judgments now?

The org let him go once, and it hurt the team the next season. We needed his goals and points more than we realized.

I'd be willing to push the term to 4 years, but that's if he accepted lower money.

4 years x 4m is the best I'd do.

I would be fine with 3 years at $6.5 million. Gives the flames some cap got and decent term but also allows them to trade him if need be with salary retention. He would bring more as a trade piece cause he won't just be a rental and his cap hit would be reasonable.
