It's not really a "celebration". It's a bunch of hockey fans getting together in a bar to watch the draft.

Saying "what are you celebrating" is like questioning why you watch the 1st game of the season at a bar with a bunch of hockey fans. "What are you celebrating, it's only October 8th - not June 8th".

It's a sporting event. You're going to watch a sporting event.

Think of more as a mid off season gathering of flames fans. TSN provides a bigtime broadcast, might as well be in a room of people who also give a s#!t about the draft. It'll be fun, what else do you have planned anyway?

I have watched the draft my whole life that I can remember. It's an interest for me. There's no real 'celebrating'.

The last two years are the only years I've ventured out to watch it (and they only two years I knew anywhere was showing it).

Last year at Flames Central there was a free t-shirt, a couple of free drinks and prize giveaways.

It was a great time.

No fireworks, no confetti or Oilers type celebrations.

Don't have time to read the whole thread but was thinking of heading down to Flames Central after work today. How busy is it usually for draft night?

You need tickets, and ticketmaster is saying today that tickets are no longer available.

Myself and Matt are here representing Fireside Chat. We are at the front on the left, I am in a Daryl Sutter style plaid shirt.

Come say hi.

Nice work Seb. We pulled in a bobble head of Lanny, Harvey the hound plush and a signed Glencross jersey.
