If 2500 calories is your TDEE - consume less calories to lose weight, consume more to gain weight.

Don't eat 4 double cheeseburgers at McDonald's with a Poutine and a Large Coke for lunch.

Eat healthy and track calories. Be consistent. We'll all make it.

http://thisisthinprivilege.tumblr.com

A nice strawman blog about the horrors of being fat in a thin man's world. Has a good helping of "####_that_didnt_happen.txt" along with it.

This topic kind of hits home for me.

I started my weight loss journey about 5 years ago. I started at about 225 lbs and over the course of a little over a year dropped down to about 163. I became obsessed. Monitoring every single thing I put in my body, no booze and working out an insane amount. Looking back I should have known it wasn't sustainable.

Over time I slowly started putting the weight back on. I still work out almost every day, but I stopped counting calories and started drinking beer again. I kind of settled into my "normal" and have been at 190lbs for the last two years or so.

It was incredibly frustrating and I was really hard on myself once I started gaining weight back, but I think I am almost at the point where I am ready to accept myself and how I am. This is me, and this is a sustainable lifestyle. I still have days where I'm depressed and think "why don't I work just a little harder and get back down to my 160 days", but I have to remind myself that I am healthy and happy, and that's good enough.

There are plenty of healthy/fit endomorphs in the world. I never focus on my weight, in fact I can't tell you how much I weight currently.

I focus on my fitness, and ability to be active.

I watch what I eat but I also drink beer.

I have never been a fan of "tracking weight", unless we are talking medical issues/directed.

Be active, exercise, pay attention to what you eat, and the rest looks after itself.

I had a proof many years ago and his fitness approach was simple. If you want to eat like a horse work (out) like a horse.

yeah, I'm at about 10 years, and I wish I could smoke every day. I don't need them. I just really miss the habit.

Part of the culture too is that everyone wants or feels entitled to the same things everyone has, but we are not all biological equals.

Some people can eat junk and never gain weight, or never exercise and stay slim, while others simply can't get away with it. But person A sees person B doing it, and they feel they should have the same joys in life. The fact is, some people can just can't. I have a pretty average body type and typically carry a few extra pounds, but if I go just one weekend without watching what I eat, the weight comes on fast.

Over the past couple of years, I have had slow but steady weight loss by going on a strict Mediterranean diet (something more in line with my genetics) and no changes in exercise routine, but one weekend of chips and fast food pretty much erases weeks of dietary discipline.

I've complained about my weight a lot on here but I really am lucky to be able to eat whatever I want without consequence (for now). Even my physicals and blood tests come back with clean bills of health.

Samething goes with smoking. I smoke quite a bit when I'm out with friends but I've never smoked sober or alone. Never once even had a craving. Only time I crave a smoke is when I'm drunk and I see others doing it.

My vice is biting my nails. They bleed regularly its so bad. I've only been able to go a week max without biting them since I started when I was like, 10?

I used to weigh 185 pounds and have a size 36 inch waist in high school. Then I got introduced to the gym, ball hockey and tennis. I also like running a lot outside. Yesterday I went for a 10km run and finished under an hour and burned over 850 cals. Needless to say I am now 145 pounds and a size 29 waist and can eat whatever I want. Infact since the Mcdonalds coupons came out... I think I've had that the last 4 out of 5 days. Anyways exercise and get off the couch and you'll be fine.

Didn't realize that POS/WOS "person or woman of weight" was a term that people used.

EDIT: Sorry, I was getting mixed up reading some of the articles. They were calling it "persons of size", not weight.

I'm pretty sure Tumblr solely exists to compartmentalize people based on made-up differences.

Looking into the minds of those troubled by obesity is interesting. Whenever I see someone in the gym that is clearly overweight I have the urge to go over and give them encouragement because they probably feel uncomfortable and out of place and need to know they aren't being judged. I never have once heard someone say anything bad about an overweight person in the gym.

Fat shaming is something insecure people do and something overweight people are too eager to claim victimisation over. Words, emotions and dietary changes aren't going to solve your issues. Long term weight loss is possible with permanent lifestyle changes. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds. Eat less meat, cheese and empty calory junk food. Seek more quality sleep, drink more clean water and avoid stress. Breath deeply, stretch regularly and exercise often. You have to do all of these things to keep it off.

You speed up the metabolism and clean out the viscera you'll lose weight, eat empty calories and stress your body you'll be overweight. Good luck, remember you probably aren't being judged most of the time and it's more likely your insecurities are defeating you.

...and when you use phrases like "Thin privilege" you've already defeated yourself.
