Dal Colle is possibly the most skilled forward of the entire draft IMO. Looks like a 6'2 Druin out there. #### Virtanen and Ritchie..

I'd be disappointed we didn't shore up the center position, but honestly couldn't complain about the player we'd still be getting.

Here's the Nations one:

http://nhlnumbers.com/2014/6/26/2014...pects-profiles

And here's Dobber Hockey's (each dobber scout picks for the team they're scouting; please note that the CGY pick was predicated on them trading down and will nonetheless generate controversy here).
Spoiler!

LOL how did Bennett make his way to 8th?

I love the idea that Lou Lamiorello manages to get the most skilled player in the entire draft with a pick that he wasn't even supposed to have, though.

I posted my list elsewhere but it's not really a mock draft, just how I would pick in order of preference.
  1. Sam Reinhart
  2. Sam Bennett
  3. Leon Draisaitl
  4. Aaron Ekblad
  5. William Nylander
  6. Michael Dal Colle
  7. Nikolai Ehlers
  8. Kasperi Kapanen
  9. Robby Fabri
  10. Sonny Milano
  11. Brandon Perlini
  12. Jake Virtanen
  13. Kevin Fiala
  14. Anthony DeAngelo
  15. Ivan Barbashev

Well at least you loved something about it. Lou Lamiorello that genius!

Sam Bennett made his way to 8th by skipping the first 7 spots.

That's a very solid list....although that is coming from me, who just posted my listing that many people likely would not agree with.

Nobody really agrees with me either, so that probably tells you something. Though in my case, it's apparently because I don't put enough weight on heartruculence and gritnacity.

There are a great many teams that put heartruculence, grtinacity and belligerentocity at the top. I think the Flames are beginning to be one of them. Perhaps if Feaster was still the GM I would have put Sam Bennett going to Calgary. My belief is that Nick Ritchie is a Brian Burke type player moreso than Sam Bennett.

A lot of my list is based on team need as well as teams that might be more familiar with different players. For example Kapanen to Carolina or Virtanen to Vancouver.

Ok, I'll bite.
So, Flames draft Ritchie with Bennett still on the board. Possible I suppose, but I can't see Vancouver drafting Virtanen with Bennett still on the board.

Can't see Demko being picked that early.
Can't imagine Nylander slipping almost out of the first round entirely.
Certainly can't see Ehlers not being picked in the 1st round at all. I would be pretty surprised if he slipped out of the top-10

Those are the big ones that stuck out to me.

Forgetting about Nikolaj Ehlers is a very big gaffe on my behalf.

Where do you figure Nylander will end up?

I think he'll be a top-10 pick personally. At worst I don't think Detroit would pass on him at 15.

Button now has Calgary selecting Dal Colle over Draisaitl with the fourth pick. Both Sams were gone this time.

Good thing that Burke is not making the final decision on the draft pick.

You are correct! It will be Brad Treliving. Apologies.

Although I too think the flames will need a potential top tier powerforward winger for the future.
