This is for you Hanna...my son and I went to the War Memorial today and toured the grounds. If you are a MASH 4077 or war buff this is the place to visit.

DO IT! Life is short, and you might as well see as much of this World as you can. Seoul is a beautiful and cosmopolitan city. Plus it is a great 'hub & spoke' for Asia. Heck take a quick train ride down to Busan and then the ferry across to Fukuoka in Japan. Have a beer and watch a Flames game with a Flames fan living there
edit: LOL... I only read your first post and replied to that. Seems you did not need my advice after all

I'll have to have you out to Yokohama - some Naval museums out here that might be a bit interesting for you. Hope you're enjoying Seoul - haven't been there myself in almost two years but always enjoyed it. Worked with Samsung Life for about 2-3 years from 2006-09 and spent a tonne of time in the city so relatively familiar though have lost my orientation (the only way I could find the restaurants I liked unfortunately).
My favorite part during my last trip was literally stumbling on the Big Rock (yes, the Calgary Big Rock) restaurant and tap house. Enjoy your time there. Sounds like a blast.

Sorry for the necro-bump. Cheese, and other illustrious posters. I will have 2 free days in Seoul at the end of the month, and about a week worth of evenings that I can enjoy.
What is the most important/ beautiful historical sight?
What is the best food item/ street food/ restaurant recommendation that I can't miss?
Any tips or pointers are most appreciated- though logistically I think I am pretty sound.
