Not sure what I regret more, listening to these terrible jokes from Richards or from listening to you whine during the "That's Stupid" segment.

Hopefully it's as good as that time when the Mike Richards fan960 experiment ended.
That was a great day.

I don't think the VJ Singh bits were offensive... they were just not the least bit funny. To me he was just taking a brown guy (Fijian actually, who sounds nothing like that) and slapping on a cliche Indian accent in an attempt to garner laughs. It's as lazy as it is unoriginal and unfunny.
The Kipper bits were no better. He's Finish so you add a "Hans and Frans from Saturday Night live" twang and that makes it funny?
Anyone who found either of those things funny strike me as the types that find those "Not Another ____ Movie" and Jay Leno funny. Just awful, lazy and unfunny stuff aimed at people who think like sheep.
Richards was a good host, a good sports guy and a great interviewer. But a lot of those bits were cringe worth with how un-funny they were.

Whoever thinks these are offensive probably hasn't been out in comedy clubs at all. They are meant to be jokes but that might be hard to tell with just how unfunny they are.
These aren't offensive in the slightest, unless bad comedy offends you.

I liked Richards just fine. Unfortunately some of his jokes were just plain stupid and not funny. Was he the one that was doing Spider from Edmonton?
Some of that was actually funny. Then again Edmonton is naturally funny.

Mike Richards was great and he was perfect for the morning show. He could deliver a solid serious interviews but plenty of his bits were hilarious. They were not all gems but better than the garbage comedy the morning show has attempted since.
The fan was at its peak when Richards ran the morning show, Boomer ran the 1-2 slot and Kerr lead the afternoons

This thread is such an accurate representation of why Richards was so popular
You either love him
or
Hate him enough to give him large amounts of exposure

Why do morning radio shows always try to be Night at the Improv? Richards was good when he stuck to the news and interviews but most of the jokes were cringe worthy. I would gladly listen to a morning show that advertised "all sports no jokes". The same goes for music stations.

Admit it or not Richards was talented and mostly funny, As we all know the fan960 are mostly CHEAP so he had to move on.

I didn't think Richards or his little acts were funny at all, but he was a great host and a great interviewer who talked about numerous sports.

We differ in that I thought he was funny but you are bang on about him being a great interviewer that wasn't solely focussed on hockey. Richards covered all sports much like Jim Rome which was part of the reason the show was so good as it didn't just consist of 3 hours of hockey every morning. He was into football, golf, boxing, baseball, etc. It was just a better balanced show when he hosted it.

You mean even with humor that may or may not have been funny to the audience it was a hell of lot more professional than those two scatter brains we listen to now. Que the Beastie Boys "Talk about", or the ever hilarious Sweet Tweets, or the 2 hour beat down of how lazy Warrener is, coupled with them laughing on the floor at each others jokes and the complete mail it in for the last hour.
I'm with you EE it was just a better balanced show when Richards hosted.
