Hilarious that CBC came out to this morning's practice. That might their first coverage of us all year.

Thanks CBC

Yeah, CBC's local sports coverage is awful. They have this female presenter whose knowledge and interest doesn't seem to go beyond a casual bandwagon Canuck's fan.

I guess the Heat are the only hockey team still playing from the Lower Mainland and the CFL hasn't started yet.

You could have said "Canucks fan" and saved yourself some typing.

Ortio vs Mzarek.

Miller and Jooris are healthy scratches:

It's Ortio vs. Mrazek in the pipes for game 1! Jooris and Miller are the regulars that sit tonight. Line-up is as healthy it's ever been

Coaches Comment:

On the regular season/playoffs: Excited for tonight's game. Guys realized they fought long and hard this year. Little bit longer than most, double reward feeling for the guys. Happy for the guys and proud of the guys . Great opportunity for the kids to grow.

On making the playoffs: During post game celebration on Saturday, Sigalet came in and informed them it was Grand Rapids. No one was shocked. Don't post standings, they just roll with it.

On playing the Griffins: Defending champs and seeing a team that knows what to do to win at this time. Those are the feather s in their caps. Teams are fairly equal in other stats otherwise.

On Matchups: Griffins can skate and pass better then they can so Abbotsford needs to control the puck. Need to put pucks in and control the pucks in their zone. Griffins will be more prepared for tonight's game but once things get started it would all be out the window.

On Lineup: Tough to make lineup. Jooris and Miller are out. Miller was a cornerstone on the 2nd line with Baertschi and Knight. Good veteran. Jooris has been here all year. Both will be missed. Lamb, Arsene and Davies all out, but can be ready to go when they need them. Have too much depth and those are just players that they had no room for in the lineup.

On this time of the year: Huge energy. It's a new beginning. Calder Cup is like the Stanley Cup. Calls will be tighter, refs have new energy, fans have energy. Rebirthing of the game.

Only 7 minutes in and shots are 6-5 Grand Rapids.

Corban Knight called for Tripping.

Griffins to the PP.

Granlund and Reinhart with a great chance shorthanded, but Reinhart was called as offside.
