I'll be on my way to work tomorrow during the lottery, will the live radio on the Flames app carry a feed?

I agree- something bothers me about him. Seems to have mental issues.

[QUOTE=19Yzerman19;4721979]Went through the last couple of pages and didn't see this thread, so here's the question: who should they take?

William Nylander: top end skill and ridiculous skating, a bit undersized at 5'11 170 but not tiny.

On a side note, I remember Michael's hot blonde wife sitting in our section in the Dome years ago and holding a baby on a couple occassions. How time flies. I'd pick this guy as he's a semi local boy.

Burke never even mentioned Dal Colle when the drafting subject was brought up. As I'm sure other GM's don't listen to these snippets because it could be posturing, I wonder if he is less than an after thought to him?

I really wouldn't read much into that.

We read way into the whole Burke hates Draisaitl thing, and today he came out and complimented him. Just cause Dal Colle wasn't in the few Burke mentioned, doesn't mean he doesn't see him as an option at 4-5th. I think Burke is thinking about who is a good candidate at 1st overall, as he's likely considering the implications of the draft lottery which takes place tomorrow. I think right now he's thinking about our 11% chance at ending up 1st.

I know, I meant it would be a huge kick in the nuts to have the #1 team in the conference get the first overall pick in the draft.

Can we put up a poll now? And then another one just before the draft. It might be interesting to see how peoples opinions change leading into the big day.

If one of Bennett/Reinhart or Ekblad fall to us, then them.

If not, then Dal Colle would be my pick.

Makes sense to wait a day until we know our actual draft position.

I still think our draft board should be Ekblad, Reinhart, Bennett, Draisaitl.

Franchise d-man or a high-end top 6 centre is what you want with a top 4 pick.

So you wouldn't want a Gabe Landeskog or a Corey Perry type player at #4? I mean I agree that centres in general are more valuable than wingers but we can't let that could our judgement into ignoring all wingers and drafting the best centre.

MDC and Draisaitl are a toss up. If the draft order's the same, I think Draisaitl's gone to Edmonton @ #3, leaving Bennett most likely as our guy.

I have a feeling that the lottery is going to be changed for 2015 to reflect some kind of balance between:

a) most years out of the playoffs in the last X years
b) fewest top Y picks in the last X years
c) current year's finish

So, unless we make the playoffs this year, we could seriously be one of the darlings of a new draft format when the stakes are significantly higher. So I'm fine if we draft 4th.

I also realize that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and would be very, very happy to win.

Just hoping things get wonky and we end up with Reinhart. Having two unassuming, low key assassins in him and Monahan would be hilariously awesome. Talented and "boring" up the middle with flash on one wing and a bit of grit on the other.

For the next decade.

It would be nice to have both Monahan and imitation Monahan for the next decade. We'd pretty much always be a top end team because of that.

I actually feel Reinhart is more talented than Monahan.

Bennett to me seems like a player that fits the culture that Burke wants to build. Everything I have read about him makes me want the Flames to draft him

I'll be thrilled with any of the 5 guys that are available at the top.

It's an apples and oranges thing, really - like comparing Krejci vs Getzlaf playstyles.
