Actually, relative to a lot of 71 year olds, he doesn't seem to show his age as well.

Haha, Torts must have blown a gasket when he saw the Flames' starting lineup.

He's always been a classy guy who I could sit for more than a lunch hour to hear what he's got to say. Very respectable man. Lets pay him his due. Might be the last we see of him in the public circle.

Pat Quinn looks to have lost a LOT of weight and a shadow of who he was when he last coached the coilers.

He has lost a lot of weight in his face and colour since his days in Edmonton.

Honestly it must be tough for the Canucks organization to come up with ways to manufacture a sense of tradition. Quinn's record in 5 years of coaching was 141-111-28.

One year living in Edmonton will do that to you.

I think most of the crowd was cheering there just to get him to stop talking.

One thing is for sure, the Flames do a much better job with these ceremonies.

Well I would say he is still sharp, did the entire speech without really looking down, its just his voice has lost a little zip. Looks a little frail as well. Great guy, great ceremony.

Aquillini must have told him to come out and do some damage control and placate the fans. Felt like a speech from Obama or something.

Is it safe to say the Ring of Honor is the Canuck equivalent to Forever a Flame?

As said in the other thread, the Griffiths broke a lot of rules to get Quinn signed there, and even the very lenient country club Ziegler came down hard on the situation and banned Quinn from coaching for a few years.
