The willpower streaks are the one that impress me the most; giving up something that was a big part of your life, whether it's junkfood, caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. As much as I have an 'all things in moderation' philosophy, I'm not sure I'd have the willpower to ever absolutely eliminate one of my favorite things from my life.
So, well-done, all you guys who have successfully done that!
I've quit caffeine a couple of times in the past, and always ended up having "just one" socially or in the afternoon. It always spiralled back into full dependency pretty quickly. Cold turkey sucks when I'm tired at my desk on a Monday afternoon, but I sleep better and feel better. I imagine people who had dependency to alcohol/smoking/etc have similar stories.
I once wore the same pair of jeans every single day for six months straight. Followed that up by wearing them nearly every single day for about eight months straight. Followed that up by washing them for the first time.
Funny that you complain about CP and call it "the worst of the worst" on a Canucks message board but read and participate in threads here.
Here's hoping you add a "haven't posted on CP for several years" to your streaks.
You should tell ken or photon to ban me then.
