That's where you need a crazy in the line up. Have him skate by their bench and tell them if they do it again he's going to chop Nurse's leg off at the knee.

He looked really strong early on in the game getting into plays and I thought he was a factor in the first goal. As the game went on, he sort of drifted off a little bit. I would say an expected performance from someone in their first pro game. Come out strong and full of adrenaline and then it drops off.
Quick player, good skating, good stick handling skills. I see what Ward means by he has the tools, just need to get the toolbox sorted out.

Love the response by Joni about being bumped/run. He likes it. Gets him pumped up and maybe he can get a little jab in on the guy. He is not a normal goaltender.

Looks like we will have Ben Hanowski in the lineup tomorrow. Sent down today, can't see why he wouldn't play
On the OKC Barons side, Horak was called up to the Oiler's today but should be returned for tomorrow. Should be coming back with 3 or 4 guys. Pitlick and Lander for sure. Probably Acton, Klefbom and Pinizzotto. Only young guy I know for sure who can't come back is Marincin.

Thank you Joni in two of those games. The second game last weekend against Rockford was dreadful for him.
Off topic, but here's really cool quote from Ward on Dan Kinvig's Ortio article from the other day:
Quote:
After Ramo returned to health, the Flames sent Ortio back to Abbotsford, where his presence has "a calming effect" on the team, Ward said.
"We have a lot of systematical rules . . . this you can do, this you can't do," Ward explained. "When Joni gets in there, instead of black and white, it becomes a little bit grey, if that makes sense.
"We feel we can do different things within the system – we have different little liberties about how we play. That wasn't right away, that developed over time. As his confidence grew, our confidence grew."
Kind of goes to show you what Ortio truly brings to this team and, hopefully, to the Flames one day.
Joni get's the night off tonight. We get our first look at Carr:
Quote:
@brandon_astle: Ortio gets the day off, so Doug Carr will get his first career pro start today. Hasn't played since Feb.22. 42-33-7 in 4 years at UMass.
And many players scratched for today's game (due to sheer size of both rosters):
Quote:
@brandon_astle: Here's one: combined between the @abbotsfordheat & @okcbarons today, there are 27 scratches. 12 for the ABB, 15 for OKC #blackaces
Hanowski in, Oiler's returns in:

Hanowski draws in. His 1st game with the club since March 4th. All 6 Edmonton reinforcements are in as well.
