@markhmasters: Joe Colborne had dinner with some former Leaf teammates last night; "Yeah, its not fun for them right now. I know that."
@markhmasters: Flames' Bryce Van Brabant on NHL debut: "I just imagine it going smoothly, but (laughs) I don't think that's going to be the case"
@markhmasters: Flames' Van Brabant: "I guess it's already a success. My family's coming in & to share it with them is more than anyone could ask for."
@markhmasters: Colborne doesn't have much advice for Van Brabant; Joe: "My 1st period was so bad. It was the worst period I think I've ever played."
@markhmasters: Despite playing badly, Colborne actually had assist in his 1st per: "I lost the puck, Phil picked it up in the D zone & skated up & scored"

Sounds like the kid's not ready to be done playing at the end of the season:
@SWhyno: #Flames' Sean Monahan says he has thought about playing for Canada at world championships. "It's in the back of my head."

5-4 Final, could go either way. It'll be high offense.. because I can see Toronto pressing for goals all night in desperation mode, and the Flames just aren't as sharp defensively on the road as they are on home ice.
Goals from Colborne, Gio, Monahan and Glencross.
Kessel nets a couple on us... but Dion at least a -2.

It will be interesting to see who goes to the World Championship this year. You have to think that with the Olympics, there will be even fewer veterans than normal who accept.
I'm thinking that we'll see at least Monahan, Backlund, Giordano, and Ramo go.
Butler has gone the last two seasons, so he'll probably get another invite for the US. Galiardi has also played for the States in the past.
I don't know if Hudler will get an invite, or if he'll go if he does. It would be a good way to show the changing of the guard for Czech hockey.
Depending on who else is available, Brodie will probably get consideration too.

Brodies will be out in full force, TJ will have a huge cheering section like we did in Detroit. My problem is- Leafs loyalty.. #thestruggle
#7 will be hungry for points tonight!

For some reason, Galiardi plays for the US internationally. He played in the 2010 World Championships.

A Brodie-Giordano pairing should be a lock imo. Brodie was selected last year and he has improved this season so I can't see him off the team. Hopefully Monahan can make it but I think quite a few players will have to turn down a spot for him to get on.

I can cheer for the leafs with a good conscience. They are my no. 2 team behind flames and a leaf win coupled with NYI win puts flames in 4th pick land.
I don't want the flames to be losers blah blah don't want to cheer for losses blah blah, but here I can cheer for my No. 2.

I'm very conflicted...I want both teams to lose. The Leafs for the embarrassment, and the Flames for the draft pick.

Hoping for a solid game by Van Brabant. As long as he hits and is somewhat decent with the puck, I'll be happy.

Good for Monahan! Would be awesome to see him in the Red and White jersey!
Go Flames Go! Won't be upset if they lose but I'll be happy if they win.

I've heard that argument a few times already this month. It's time to just lose the rest and lock in that #4 spot. The Leafs are embarrassing with or without us beating them.
