I'll be 26 in a week.
One of my earliest memories of the Flames is the Pavel Bure breakaway goal in OT, I remember being heartbroken that we had lost.
I wasn't old enough to remember the Cup run first hand but we did have the "C of Champions" VHS that got it's fair share of play time.
As a kid though I probably liked the Anaheim Ducks just as much as I liked the Flames, Kariya and Selanne are probably still my two favorite players ever.

As a kid I was ecstatic that my favourite player, Frank Mahovlich beat out Bobby Hull for the Calder Trophy.
There was only one game a week (Sat night of course) shown on TV and the game was "joined in progress." Usually about halfway into the 1st period.

I remember as a young boy that first year the Flames were in Calgary, and the big run they went on beating Chicago and Philly, then losing to Dino Cicarelli and the Minnesota North Stars. I cried, but that is what hooked me as a Flames fan.
I thought Pat Riggin was awesome, a butterfly goalie before it was invented. Pekka Rautakallio. Did make it to a couple of games in the Corral.

Old enough to watch the Flames first season in the Corral, and watch Lou Jankowski score a ton of goals for the Stampeders.

That was 2002.
Florida streaker was 1998.
I was at both! What awful luck I have.

I'm 57. Moved to Calgary from the UK in December 2006. Saw Craig Conroy on the news transferred back from the Kings and fell a little bit in love with him. So though only been watching hockey for 7 years I am totally obsessed. Eat, sleep, breathe Flames.

Phew, I thought I might be winning (losing) the race. Just turned 46.
As most kids in Calgary prior to 1981 were either leafs or habs fans, I remember distinctly that I thought it would take a few years for the Flames to grow on me. Perhaps a couple of years of "co-favourites" while I transitioned from the leafs to the home town team. Wrong. First game I was hooked, with Willie Plett being the easy favourite. Didn't go to the first game, but remember it on TV. It was just awesome to think that we would be playing those original six teams and other big city teams like Philly. Really felt like Calgary arrived as a city.
I was lucky enough to go to some games at the Corral. What an experience. Such a tiny place for big league hockey, but boy was it loud and fun! I am sure it was horrible for players, but for the fans, you were right on top of the action, even the standing room only crowd.
All in all, many great memories and I am looking forward to many more with the current iteration. GFG!

I actually cheered for the Avs at first picked them because I loved the Broncos and the Avs were stacked. Roy and Forsberg are probably my favorite non-Flame players
Going to games in the mid-late 90s got me cheering for the good guys thanks to Theo
I was lucky enough to go to the majority of the home playoff games in '04, including the elimination game against Detroit and Game 6 against Tampa. Row 3 seats in the corner, both my best (Gelinas goal) and worst (St. Louis goal) hockey memories happened ~15 feet away from me

I am 31 in a couple of weeks.
I remember watching game 6 in 1989 with my dad. Didn't quite know what was going on, but do remember watching the game and cheering for Calgary.
I remember the days of only ~30-35 games being on TV, and when there was a game on 2&7 or CBC it was a big deal.
My parents used to make me go to bed early and I had a small 13" B&W Hudson's Bay Company TV in my room that I used to watch playoff games on. That thing died on me in the third round of the 2004 Conference Finals!
I remember my dad buying lots of coke, cause in the early to mid 90s if you bought a 12-pack, they had a 5.99 voucher for Flames games.
My best memory was a Friday night game against Vancouver (maybe 1993?) and Calgary won 8-1. The best part was Mike Vernon beating up Kirk McLean.
I used to hate Luc Robitaille.

On thing that must sound crazy for kids today is getting west coast scores 36 hours after the game. The Herald printing presses started before games in LA and VAN ended, and you would get the score in the paper the next day.
Now you have NHL Game Center on your phone.

42. Didn't start following the Flames (hockey in general) wholeheartedly until after the 89 Cup, but Fleury's infamous OT goal in a highlight package is what hooked me.
I always thought the original streaker was vs Montreal on New Year's Eve. I think I remember hearing the guy wasn't even from Calgary...was from the UK. I remember the hilarious Van Earl Wright on Fox Sports doing the highlight package for that game. "That guy was naked". Classic.
When Iginla came into the Chicago series before the drought I got super excited about the Flames and its never really subsided.

36. Time flies as I was 25 when I found Calgarypuck.....that's 11 years ago!!!! I started out an Oilers fan in the eighties. As a young child I was forced to live in Edmonton and feel lucky to have got out. My mullet stayed in Edmonton where it belongs. Converted to a flames fan when we moved to Calgary in 1992 .

I'm 23. Always been a Flames fan. My first live game at the Dome was for a game against the Panthers in 1996 (I think it was '96 anyway).

41 ,my dad got to a couple games in that first year ,and brought me back some programs. I was new to hockey at the time and the programs amazed me.As an immigrant family it quickly became aware what a great game it was
and I was hooked ,
unfortunately for me we moved to northern Alberta soon after and I would have to endure the might of the idiocy of oiler nation for a five year stretch.
Remember getting Gretzky skates for Christmas and marking over his signature on them

I am so old that I have seen the Leafs win the cup (not live, but on TV)
But there is no chance that I will live long enough to see the Canucks win the cup.

Was also at the corral for the first game, with my dad. Wondered why I couldn't hear the play by play. Decided after looking at a program that Eric Vail would be my favourite player. soon though it was Nilsson.
Some crazy characters from the old days. Scary Kari Eloranta. Neil Sheehy, Brad Marsh, Mel Bridgman. Don Cherry trying to pronounce Pekka Rautakallio (sp?)
Peter Maher on the radio, listened to every game I could. If not, it was straight to the paper in the morning.
Ed Whalen! Mispronouncing names was only the start!
"Loob is in a fight! He's really hammering the guy, Loob with some lefts...oh...it's Tim Hunter, not Loob."
"One does not want to condone fighting in the game of hock...OH WHAT A PUNCH BY HUNTER" as Don Jackson went down.
The 1980's, what crazy hockey. If you were a Flames fan in the 1980's you just cannot be one of these guys who says I feel sorry for the Oilers or thier fans. Nope never. Hate them. They may have all these skill guys and people like to remember that, but they had more than the average share of goons and dirty players. Semenko kneeing Konroyd. Semenko kicking and kneeing Tim Hunter. Semenko sucker punch on Rich Kromm while he was already tied up. It goes on and on. Semenko afraid of Dave Brown...get Brown on Oilers. McSorley new heaveyweight champ, get him on Oilers. Glen Cochrane beats up McClelland, get Cochrane. Some sort of weird inferiority thing up there, always trying to get the toughest player. Nowadays they got MacIntye because he scared the Oilers in a preseason game. Then more recently, scour the AHL to find the toughest guy in Gazdic. Nope, hate the Oilers forever.
1986. 1989. Wow.
We used to gather somewhere for every playoff game and make a Flames shrine. 8 or so of us would pile into the back of a pickup truck with Flames flag and drive around celebrating. We would go to the airport after road playoff wins (and some losses) to cheer the team home.
Ah the 80's. Charlie Bourgeouis, Phil Russel, Gino Cavallini's wrecking ball shifts. Sergei Makarov, German Titov, Jamie Macoun, Rik Natress, Dana Murzyn, Joel Otto, Paul Ranheim, Badger Bob, Niewendyk and Roberts.
The Stanley Cup win. I was down on electric Avenue. Euphoria.
I wish all the younger fans could experience what that was like.
The searing disappointment that the 1989 team did not become a 3-5 cups winning dynasty. They were so good.
My favourite players became hitting defensmen: Gauthier, Regehr, Pahneuf.
Then the great pleasure of watching Jarome Iginla from start to finish. Met him at some rookie thing at the U of C. Was still a little bitter we traded Nieuwendyk, but of course he made all that go away.
2004. Sigh.
This team we have today, I love them. Lance Bouma! Brodie! Giordano! Looking forward to seeing more of Monahan, Wotherspoon, Granlund, Byron, Colborne. Just an exciting team. Hope to see a little more toughness maybe with Ferland and Seiloff. Watching Stajan score and McGrattan embrace him. Yes, a special group.
47 and I am still passionate about the Flames. While you will catch me heartily cheering on the Bruins, a soft spot for LA Kings; and I do cheer on the Devils for decades. Ever since Gretzky made fun of them. Odd, I don't think the Devils were ever so bad as whiner99er's Oilers are now.
Strong dislike for the Canucks, but will never forget the 80's and the Oilers. Hasn't been an easy road to be a Flames fan for most of a lifetime, but I wouldn't change that for anything.
I still have some Flames games recorded on Beta tapes. Used to tape most games back then. Edit them into highlight tapes. Watch them over and over.
Proud of our reputation as a hard working team. Looking forward to the next decades.
