I honestly can't remember a more likeable character guy on this team than McGrattan. Ville Niemenen was right up there for me, but man McGrattan has turned into a solid piece for this team. I really hope we can hang on to him for a couple extra years, and not have him fade off like some of our other enforcers over the years.

Win or Lose, this team gives full value to their fans unlike a certain team north of Calgary.
- Butler was Butler... if the play doesnt die on his stick, he makes sure to give it to someone who is covered so that it dies right away on them.
- Ortio was good.... the most positive thing in his game is that his fundamentals seem great and only minor adjustments are going to be needed for him to go from good to very good!
- I love the make up of the majority of our team. Byron is showing potential way beyond what was expected and is so fun to watch. Bouma is the definition of that 1 work horse every good team needs. Colborne just gets better, Backlund has gained so much confidence and is a treat to watch & Gratts is the ultimate enforcer who can play the game.
Really Realtor?
Flames win 7-2 and your first comment is negative against Butler who was +2 on the evening???

I couldn't agree more. I know I've said it numerous times, and it's obvious by my avatar and sig, but I'm a huge fan of Grats. Everyone on the team seems to love him, and the comments Hartley's made, especially yesterday, really solidified what most of us thought about him being a fantastic team and room guy.

Sorry, but Butler was fine tonight. No glaring errors. His penalty was because his partner made a poor pass. He blocked shots, made decent passes. He was what he is: a 4-5 dman.
Watching sports highlites at the gym, and I couldn't understand why they kept showing Flames goal after Flames goal. Then it clicked that they were all from the game tonight, and I did one of these

I would agree. Butler is 3rd overall for blocked shots in the NHL. We all appreciate boumas shot blocking. The guys a warrior. He blocks shots at the highest the puxh reaches velocity. The guys that get over looked on blocked shots are butler (3rd) Smid (6th) and Russell (9th). And each respectfully add a different style of play with success.
Got back from the game:
- Hiller certainly didn't deserve the yank...it felt more of a wake up pull for the Ducks...that failed to help at all. Two goals weren't his fault (perfect 2-on-1, top corner blast by Giordano). Andersen was certainly the worse goalie tonight...
- Ortio is trained just like Kiprusoff through and through. You can see the way he watches the puck, the positioning of his glove, and his pad movements that he's been trained to play the exact style Kiprusoff did.
- Byron and Backlund were extremely impressive. Byron has amazing straight line speed and Backlund shifts laterally so well. Both read the Ducks well tonight and it's great to see them rewarded on the scoreboard.
- Monahan has an impressive close to the net. Early in the game he had a few chance to move the puck and he actually stopped himself from shooting to give the puck off to Cammalleri or Colborne, who had better shots. It's a good step in his development.
- Wortherspoon is settling in as a quiet stay-at-home defenceman. You can see he's learning to angles and if he gets more involved physically, I think he's going to be a gem.
- Knight wasn't too impressive most of the game, but despite half the fans being gone, he got one of the best applause.
- Nice that Selanne didn't burn the Flames for once.
