It's anyone's guess, but i'm going to say it's closer to Abby's number than the one I have posted in my article.

Hilariously, the flames website is displaying both heights and weights on the same page: http://flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?...id=DL|CGY|home
This way you'll have to buy a ticket and goto the games to find out.

maybe a showcase before the deadline? sell high?
granlund for coyle?
unites the brothers for minny
A 21yr old 6'3" 221lb right shooting winger for the flames.

and before you say it's lopsided in the flames favour, think that coyle had 25pts in 47 games last year in the AHL while granlund has 44pts in 50 games this year.
Win-Win IMO

He plays like the bigger version in the AHL, we'll see how he stacks against the top flight guys soon.

Even Monahan hasn't been in that role for the better part of the season.
If we're icing 3 scoring lines then sure, throw him on the 3rd one.

As for Monahan vs Granlund, Monahan is 19 in his first pro season. Granlund has been playing against men for 3 years now (2 in SM-Liiga and 1 in AHL) and should be further along in his development. I think they expect prospects his age to push for the role they are intended for. Monahan is a very young future 1st/2nd line centre being carefully groomed on the 3rd line. Granlund is an older prospect who's been an offensive catalyst in pro hockey for three years now and should be near ready for a 2nd line type role without much careful grooming required.

Hockeydb is always late.
Elite Prospects is usually closer to the up to date version
Hockey's Future is late as well with their updates. Almost on an annual basis.

I would trust the Heat's website over all 3. Straight to the source is usually the best, especially with the trainers taking the measurements.

So Granlund has almost doubled Coyle's production? Lopsided but not in the flames favor.

What about Sven + for Granlund? We unite the Granlund brothers in Calgary and the Wild get the Swiss connection going with Sven and Nino?

Heck ya I'd do Sven+ for their Granlund... I just wonder if this means that one of our roster players is on his way out.

Would have to be a helluva plus at this point. Not sure I'd be comfortable with it given Sven's current value.

Doubt the Wild trade Mikael Granlund. He is their best center prospect, had a hell of a performance at the Olympics, and probably going to be the best center on the team after Koivu starting next season. Their next best center prospect is Zach Phillips who is scoring at less than 0.5pts/g in his 2nd year in the AHL. Unless they acquire another legit center, Mikael is not going anywhere.

Wild may have an interest in Markus Granlund but it won't be for a roster player, at least not until the offseason and while they still hold a playoff spot and/or Markus proves that he is an everyday NHLer (i.e. not a few games played before the deadline).

As much as I'd love to get both Granlunds here, I would also trade Markus....for the right price. If the wild want to over pay for him, and if he plays well while he's up they'd have no choice, then I'd make him available. He is someone I'd like to keep around but if the Wild want to give us a "better" prospect just to have the brothers together then I'm all for it.

Saku didn't go to Minnesota because he didn't want to compete for icetime with his brother. I think the Granlunds probably feel the same way maybe? (All Finnish). Especially right now when they're trying to become NHL players. I don't think they would even be interested being on the same team.

i think byron and granlund would do alright, byron's speed could really help make things happen and open up room for granlund, but westgarth is dead weight there

He and Byron should be able to produce. Any of the Heat guys here know if they played together at all this year?

So he will have 2 shifts with Westgarth, then Westgarth will be stapled to the bench and the rest of his shifts will see Westgarth replaced with another forward deserving of an extra shift.

no big deal.
