What is GB's strategy even?

Too many rocks in play. 3rd should be the one clearing the front not the skip. Murdoch already saved the first end with a triple he can't make a miracle every time.

When Canada is in any trouble at all. EJ and Fry start clearing. And Canada doesn't force things. That 4th end Fry made a mistake and they we're prepared to give GB 2 but never 3. Then GB messed up.

And Murdoch is so far behind now that he can't really change strategy either. He needs a pile of rocks in play and a miracle to get back into this. Up by 5, this is virtually over. Steal another or hold the Brits to one before taking 2+, and it's all over but the handshakes.

Well, this is looking good.
Probably was the best thing for this group to have a few bumps at the beginning.

Edit: isn't there also some international/Olympic rule that says they have to play to X End even if it's 10-1?

Yup no choice now.

But the first end there is no way a team with hammer should ever be lying 4 or 5.

Murdoch was quite lucky to get to the gold medal game. Edin blows a shot he normally makes to open it up for him. Jacobs, like Jones, was clearly the best player on the team all week and really kept his team in some of the early games as they found their footing.

I don't know about international, but I believe you have to play at least six ends in the Brier/Tournament of Hearts.

I'm sure they have to play at least 8 ends before looking for the bar. I know here at home, that's the rule once the Brier or Scott gets to the playoffs. But I think it's influenced by TV coverage as well. Vic and the crew must get paid by the end...

Resolute, I agree that it's 6 ends in round robin. Only goes to 8 in the playoff rounds.

Absolutely dominated the Brits. Great game by Canada.

In the Ladies' Biathlon 4x6km relay, Megan Heinicke, our weakest skier, shot clean on both attempts, and it looks like Canada will be in 4th place going into the last leg. Norway and Russia will be hard to beat, and Ukraine leads by 30 seconds but they are the weakest team, so there is an -outside- shot at a medal here.

All it takes is a miss and things could get interesting.

Kocher is only 5 seconds behind 3rd place right now.

Damn, she passed them going into Shooting 7, but she's now 25 seconds behind due to shooting.

And looks like we'll be skating vs Poland for the Bronze in Team Pursuit (Men's)
