These shootout rules are hilarious. It's just Oshie over and over again for the US with Datsuyk and Kovalchuk alternating for Russia. Oshie finally wins it.

I have always said the international rules of allowing shooters to be reused after the first 3 was dumb.
If you insist on a shootout the whole team should have to shoot once before you can shoot again

Shoot-outs are bad enough in removing the team element, but allowing one shooter over and over is garbage.

I wonder if the Americans would do that if the game meant something. That was borderline arrogance.

Probably this game does mean something. It's important to finish first.

Wasn't that Recipe to Riches guy one of the lead terrorists on one of the seasons of 24?

Russia got jobbed. Stupid rule disqualifies a clear goal, and then another stupid rule allows US to prevail in a ridiculous fashion during the shootout.
The good news in all of this is that the USA offence looks about s good on the ice as it does on paper, which is no where near what Canada has iced. I think Bobrovski plays out the remainder of the tournament, but Russia will still be in tough with that pretty sketchy defense.

How is that borderline arrogance? Oshie is by far the best player in the shootout on the American team (7/10 this year in the NHL). It was obvious after the first two attempts that he had Bobrovsky's number. If the rules allow it, why wouldn't you keep playing the hot hand?

Canada has done the same thing. Toews WJCs over and over again until they won over the Americans.

After today they will definitely do this again if the game means something. Oshie nearly went 6/6 in that shootout and has all the confidence in the world

The Russians were doing the same thing, they just rotated two guys instead of going with the same guy over and over.

Was it arrogant when Toews did the same thing in the World Juniors?
Crazy game.
Hopefully Kesler and McDonagh are alright.

No he was Chole's husband who worked at CTU.
I look forward to them relying on Oshie again in a QF or SF.

I have to give the Russians credit, they were a lot better than the team looked on paper. Even if they still do rely a little too much on the "Feed the puck to Ovechkin" game plan.

Awesome game.....best of the tourney so far. Had to ask the hotel to open up the bar so i could watch it and they did...also made me some breakfast while watching. Good tip for that gal.
This US team is really really good and i think have as good a shot at winning it all as anyone....their speed is freaking insane. I will be cheering for them over all but Canada.

i think when Toews went in the world juniors you weren't allowed to go twice in a row.. or not allowed to go twice in a set of 3. Never have I seen 1 guy go over and over again.
