It's official: Secret Agent Mikael Backlund has officially been deployed. Goalies beware.

Posted in GT, but I'm putting it here too, because I'm super impressed by him lately, then again who isn't:

Great to read about backlunds desire to have more patience with the puck in the "backing backlund" thread and then see a play like that. Shows his hard work is paying off and his current hot streak is not just a fluke (though his current pace is near impossible to keep up). Keep it up backs

This team has guts. Despite all of the momentum against them, they got it to OT and remained focused to get the win.

Damn happy, the deck was definitely stacked against them by the officials.

I wonder if they can catch Winnipeg and end up in the usual 6th overall draft slot. These guys are actually making me think it's more likely than not at this point.

It's nice to have the fun and the goals back again.

Trade that bum Backlund!! Man, i remembered when people here was calling him a bust and should be traded for a bag of pucks. Good turnaround for him and that winning goal play, in the past he would throw that puck to the point or to nobody but he went to the net instead. I love that he's been great lately, Brodie and Bouma really showing they belong to the NHL. Then Monahan and Colborne are really improving. That's how confidence gives you.
Man, Berra's luck is so bad. Aside from the goal Matt Cooke scored, I thought he played well enough. Only bad thing though, he tends to give up way too many rebounds. Also, he tends to go down a lot. I wonder how bad Ramo's injury is.

Question... is goaltender interference no longer a penalty?

Great game. Been a couple weeks since I could watch.
Backlund and Monahan are the great hope right now. Bouma's determination is what we have sorely been missing. And great to see TJ get deserved goal - can't help but like the guy.
Let's hope Ramo is ok, Berra is messy but serviceable.

I'll excuse his Monahan spelling.

Good for you Ashley and Emerson--don't you take the blame for that.

(Edit--I'm assuming that commercial is about the Oilers' rebuild)

The refs took a #### on the rulebook tonight. Too many men doesn't exist anymore either.

I think we can officially translate burke's comments to be:

"trying to retain any value in OBrien by making crap up about a prospect I have no interest in seeing play.

First item we can officially call BS on Burke with?

So happy the young guys are the driving force behind the wins. I love that Hartley trusts them enough to put them in a position to win the game, and that they are responding.

3 games where a different goalie finishes the game that the Flames have won. That has to be a rare one.

Nice to see them on a roll, even though it's really the last thing the team needs.
