Bronze Iggy statue hoisting a Silver Cup in front of the new arena. More than a few stars would need to align for that to happen... Ah well.

Not me. Personally I think something like that would be ostentatious....and I really think Iggy would be uncomfortable with something like that. He has never been the type of person or player to purposely seek the limelight.
Don't get me wrong. Iggy is one of my all time favorite Flames and he did a lot for the Flames franchise. However, IMHO, honoring Iggy by retiring his jersey would be more than sufficient in recognizing his achievements.

In my dreams Iginla signs four separate 1 year deals with the flames, who trade him at the deadline 3 more times for picks, and then we keep him on the team for a cup run in 2017.

I think this ridiculous drive by should be bumped just for the hell of it, too.
Yes, Northendzone, it appears as though Jarome Iginla is still playing in the league on a regular basis.

Haha! I mentioned this in his original trade thread. I call it 'Tkachuking.'
It worked for St. Louis, why cant it work for us?

The answer to thread question is yes. At the start of the season did I think he could do it...no.
Even though I think Feaster was a bad GM, he was correct last year when telling Iggy that the Bruins were a better fit for him.

Isn't it though? Tampa is so short on history and (retired) greatness that they are putting up a statue of Dave Andreychuk. I find statues to be, in general, stupid. Hope we don't foul up our new arena district with them.

Only Flame to deserve that honour IMHO is Lanny McDonald.

Over Iggy? Not a chance. I know the work Lanny has done our community, and how beloved he was for this city, but outside of the cup win, Jarome has done so much more.
He is undoubtedly the face of this franchise, and will be associated with this team the way Sakic, Yzerman, Howe, Lemiuex, Modano, and Lafluer are with theirs.
If there's anyone in our team history who deserves a statue, it's Iggy.

All those other guys won stanley cups with their teams...great player, great guy, but when it comes to a statue you have to win. What you want a statue of him with the cambell bowl?
wow this has gone off the rails lol...hope he gets 30

Kind of surprising that he's only got 4 pp goals which is 4th on the Bruins. That's probably the main difference between this and some of his Flames 30 goal season as it's his lowest PP goal total in a full season since 99.

I don't think it's that surprising considering the Bruins usually work on a scoring by committee basis. Since the lockout the Bruins have only had two players who have scored more than 30 in a season, Bergeron with 31 in 05-06 and Lucic with an even 30 in 10-11. It looks like this year they will have six, maybe seven 20 goal scorers, so they obviously like to spread opportunities around under Julien.

Jarome already has a statue. It's in Flames Central!
