I blame every single person that said they didn't care if the Flames lose. Go punch yourself in the balls, this is the Canucks we're talking about.

Torts going to get suspended/fined
Brodie/Wideman playing career high minutes

Flames went down swinging and outworked the better team tonight. Games like this will make the rebuild worth it and result in a solid foundation to build from.
Totally agree. Much like Philly brawl turned around their season, I got a feeling that this will really solidy some of the young guys.

Guys like Bouma, Backlund, Brodie, Gio, Colbourne and to an extent Monahan and Byron can really build of this game for the future moving forward and how they played tonight. Things like this can really solidify the team chemistry.

Flames are rarely ever on after hours. Gio last week, first time this season?

I've always been amazed at Vancouver's ability to cycle some of the cheapest, most gutless players in the league through their lineup with surprising regularity. You get your Cooke's and Rutuu's and Bertuzzi's and as they move on the Burrows', Kesler's, Bieksa's, Lapierre's emerge, then Kassian enters the picture, etc, etc. Now you even have Tortorella trying to one up whatever his previous low was as a coach in the league.

I don't know if it's a chicken or the egg thing but there's just something about that organization that attracts/breeds players of this ilk. I'm surprised Bieksa was actually willing to take the opening draw against Westgarth, unless he knew the linesmen would jump in right away.

Fascinating stuff.

Flames are never on after hours as the away team but visitors on our home games are always featured. Screw them.

If I could, I would go the rest of the season with the Flames beating the Oilers and Canucks every game and losing to everyone else. Good draft pick positioning and beat the two teams that make me happy. It would be a wondrous world.

I feel bad for those kids who are "growing up watching the Canucks." Pathetic example for kids.

Looks like Tortorella is about to take the podium on the Canucks YouTube feed.

Wideman (38:05) played the most minutes in an NHL regular season game in over 11 years. Aucoin, with NYI, played 38:21 vs Phi on Oct. 17/02.
