Surely that's a suspension? I don't ever remember seeing something like that even in the NHL. There was no deviation of course, he just ran right over him. LOL

The problem he will have is he clearly looks at him before bowling over him.
Hard to make an argument that it was accidental and didn't see him.

Hitting a ref in any league is either a match or gross misconduct penalty IIRC.
Also, not only is it a penalty, he is likely gone for the game and could be suspended further afterwards, especially in International play

Not 'embarassing' per se, but shooting the puck at the net after the whistle is completely unnecessary.

Only 2 minutes? I don't quite understand how he only got a roughing penalty.
Little surprised McDavid didn't get 2 for the shot.

They have a weird siren at the end of the period, so I hope McDavid just didn't hear it. But, yeah, it looked like he knew it was over and still decided to shoot.

Considering how often it happens embarrassing a little strong of a term to use there. I tend to have more issues if a guy shoots that late at a goalie who may let up at the whistle, in an empty net who really cares.
No need for a penalty on McDavid that would have been a BS call if made.
