The forum needs a feature where you can search for the threads with the most posts in the last 24 hours, then you can look for the threads with titles like "Support a student please!", "Virgin Auction", or "Tipping a server" that suddenly get hundreds of posts in one day and then go read them to see what happened to make them take off.

Yep, that was a pretty cool thread for those of us who have been posting here for years. We've seen Gay Rights threads go from more people against equal rights then for them, to a pretty even split that resulted in huge emotional discussions, to literally just a few posters clinging on to the idea that homosexuality is icky and shouldn't be treated as normal.

You'll still see the odd poster here and there make a stink, but honestly now a days it seems to have more to do with their location than anything. Pointman's contribution was more interesting than distasteful to me, as it gave us a glimpse into the thoughts of someone living in the belly of the beast, so to speak, and seeing how his opinions and values are clearly formed by his environment in Russia, and he also clearly respected what he's been "taught" by the State on homosexuality.

PIMKing is another guy who was rolling out the "I'm fine with it, but just don't do anything in public, keep it in the bedroom, gay rights are fine, but why do we have to talk about them" rhetoric the other day. Again, he's from Alabama, so I bet his environment also shapes a lot of his thoughts.

I'm willing to bet that if you changed his location to somewhere like Calgary, you see his opinion change over time.

Funny story, I picked up a new dictionary and looked up the word owned, and right there was her response post.

Come on dude, be a man and admit it, you got carved called something less then a man then slapped across the face with a micro penis shot.

There was actual "anti-gay" posters in the thread? Like people who are anti-gay?

I didn't really bother to read the thread because I didn't care about reading the discussion (different than not caring about the issue), but it's been referenced a few times which makes me wonder if I should go and read it..... But also makes me think probably not worth reading.

Yeah, there's some pretty homophobic, bigoted views displayed in that thread. Definitely an interesting read though, I'd go through it if you get some time.

It's really amazing and sad to see what some people still think of the LBGT community in 2013.

The thing is this..you all have no idea what's true and what's not in regards to that situation yet have no problem assuming you do.
