This looked like a normal OOT since the Oilers lost again, 4-2 to the Avs. LOL, stupid Oilers. The Avs smartened up from the shellacking they got from the Oilers 2 weeks ago. Dubnyk was decent in goal for the Oilers but he gets tagged with another loss. Matt Duchene had 3 points. The Canucks lose 4-1 to the Stars and Loserongo gets pulled. The Stars scored early and quick, 15 seconds apart for a 2-0 lead and never looked back. 7uongo was yanked after he let the 4th goal in, the 3rd goal was a softie, he faced 19 shots. The guy doesn't deserve a spot on the Olympic team with the performance he put it up. The Blues pounded the Habs 5-1, Price wasn't great either facing 29 shots. Alex Steen stays hot as he scored 2 goals in the win, he opened the scoring with SHG. The Panthers beat the Senators 4-2. The Sens were up 2-1 after 1 period but let it slip away. The Panthers scored the GWG late in the 3rd and then scored again, a SHG! The Sens are brutal right now. Jeff Rimer's outburst last game at his Leafs teammates worked, he played well and so did his team as the Leafs beat the Coyotes 2-1 in the SO. The best game had to be the Flyers surprising comeback against the BJs. The Flyers were down 3-0 starting the 3rd period and scored 5 goals to win 5-4. It was the Claude Giroux show in that period, 2 goals and 2 assists. The Sabres with the upset win over the Bruins, 4-2. The Kings beat the Sharks 4-1, the Lightning defeat the Predators 4-2, and the least surprising result had the Penguins winning 5-2 over the Wild. Olli Maatta scored a SHG on a penalty shot.
Going into the games last Thursday, the Flames were only 1 point ahead of the Oilers, and 26th overall in the standings. Now, a week later, the Flames have dropped to 27th in the standings, but are 7 points ahead of the Oilers.
With Thursday night's results, the Oilers are now guaranteed to spend Christmas in last place in the Western Conference, for the third time in the last four NHL seasons. This is also guaranteed to be their lowest point total on Christmas since the introduction of the OTL point. If they win their next two games, they will be at 29 points at the break. In 2010, they had 30 points at Christmas.
Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa wears red.

Oilers shill Bob Stauffer set #3–5 in the Pacific Division as the benchmark for the Oilers this season. After last night, they are 23 points out of third (SJ has two games in hand), and 18 points out of fifth (Phoenix has three games in hand).

i eagerly await yet another Mactavish press conference where he says he's unhappy/frustrated, but that he isn't changing the roster, he's ecstatic about the coaching, and that the oiler first round pick is in play.
Roman Jedlicka@jedli6m #SJSharks Tomas Hertl should be one month without hockey. Good source. Bad for Czech hockey team, bad for Calder Trophy...

They will beat St. Louis, only because the Oilers are big fans of five-game losing streaks. Four of them already this year.
I can't remember the numbers anymore, but the Oilers record on the first game back home, after at least two games on the road, is incredibly inept (even for them).
IIRC it is something in the neighbourhood of 1 win in that last 14 or 15 games, spanning over two seasons.

They can't do anything right.
0-4 this season
1-2-2 last season
0-6-3 in 2011-12
1 win in their last 18, using that criteria. 7 of 36 points.

Stauffer also practically guaranteed Yakupov would score 40 goals this year.
