I believe the penalty was for knocking his net off the moorings because he felt he was interfered with. He and stempniak simultaneously came into each other outside the blue paint so he was not setup.

he thought he was interfered by Stempniak on the goal, but it was outside of the crease. He knocked off the net in anger. Unsportsmanlike conduct.
