The Calgary Stampeders have called a press conference for Thursday morning to make a "football operations announcement." #CFL
I assume this is about Dickenson becoming assistant head coach?
Yep:
Vicki Hall@vickihallch2m
Stampeders call news conference for tomorrow: Dave Dickenson expected to be named associate head coach and offensive coordinator

3 years is about the right timeline for Huff to move upstairs and hand the reigns to Dave. Good signing, he was better this year.

so how do the Stamps approach this list? Do they leave them all as Free Agents and reduce the list of players they would protect in the upcoming draft with a wink wink nudge nudge that the players sign back? Or do they risk the REDBLACKS taking a shot at one or more of them? Would the RBs risk taking a player about to become a UFA?
The UFA period starts February 15. So leave them unprotected and after the draft sign those you want back?
Who would they want to sign back?

Don't care much if Calgary let the bolded players go. Franklin is actually retired already.
I am kind of iffy on the following LB Malik Jackson. I like him as a player but he missed a lot of games in the last two seasons already and deron Mayo pretty much put him as expendable. We already have Randy Chevrier as special team snapper so I think Tim St. Pierre is kind of redundant. So, letting him go might not be a problem. Marc Calixte is the same as Jackson good player but missed a lot of games due to injuries the last two season. We have LB Alvin Bowen is who is younger and more agile than Calixte. R Jabari Arthur is very inconsistent as far as I am concerned. The guy can be dominant like Lewis if he feels like it but when he is off, he is useless. We also have some younger players like Spencer Armstrong, Anthony Parker, Brad Sinopli that could benefit from playing more.
Need to keep: FB Rob Cote. I think this guy is one of the most valuable player in this team. Just watch whenever he is on the field.. Cornish gets more yardage and gets lots of space to run. That is because of Rob Cote good blocking along with the OLine blocking. Dmitri Tsoumpas. Concussion problem aside, this guy is a gamer. Others not mentioned and not on my LET GO bolded list should stay as well.

I don't think they would say "announcment on a Stamps player" if it was about a trade?

Receiver Maurice Price signs new deal with Stamps. He could have been a free agent Feb. 15 #calstampeders #CFL #YYC

Stamps lose Rick Campbell as DC. Any possible candidates to replace him?
Is LaPolice a possibility?
Edit: Nvm, Lapolice seems to be an offensive coach. Huf might have to find someone brand new. Tim Burke would've been nice to replace Campbell.

No problem with the job Campbell did in his two different sessions here, but glad he's gone. It's akin to having Glen Sather's son be involved with the Flames in some coaching capacity.
I am sure Huf/Dickenson will find someone capable.

^^ NVM.. Rick Campbell went to Ottawa to become their first head coach. I bet we will see some Stamps D following him as an expansion draft or sign as a free agent.

Campbell will almost assuredly acquire one of the stamps qb's...as he will know them better than any others in the league.
My guess is Drew Tate is a Redblack in a couple weeks.

Ya Tate or Glenn, which is best case scenario for Calgary.
If a QB is taken we get to protect more players. We don't need 3 starters so it lets us keep 2 capable QBs as well as more depth else where.
Im not sure who I'd rather lose. Tate is younger but so injury prone and if goes down again early we are just stuck with BLM.
Glenn and BLM could be a good duo...
