The Oilers need a big shakeup. Perhaps a new rink announcer. The failure of the season is palpable every time he announces an opposition goal.

Petry was pathetic on that goal against. Oilers fans talk like he is a top pairing D and top 4 on every team in the league. I just don't see it

I am sure they'll blame him before they get to Hall, Hopkins, Eberle, and Schultz. Can't blame The Four Horsemen for any of this.

Lmao. J. Schultz with 62 NHL games with a -27 rating. He is all kinds of bad.

If the Oilers lose another 3-4 games in a row something has to be done right? Can they really continue to accept losing for much longer?

If Katz was smart about his Oliers, he would clear the house of all Oiler alumni, bring Regier as the new GM....and then Regier should immediately jettison the coaching staff and bring Laviolette on board.....let him hire his own assistants.
Of course, I just hope they keep it status quo.

Crapapov with an 80 second shift that went through 3 different centers. He accomplished exactly nothing in that 80 seconds and other that a fortunate bounce over a Dallas player's stick he would have had another minus to his credit.
I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't see the ice again tonight after that moronic move. And all the fan-boy Oiler fans will be telling us it is all Eakins fault and the only way Crapapov can get any time is if he just stays on the ice forever during his shifts.
hahahaha.. The circus continues unabated.

You would have to think so. I'm a little surprised that the biggest thing done to this point is a middling trade with the Flames...unless MacTavish has been handcuffed by ownership or other trade partners in making a deal.
Can't see either Eakins or MacT getting the axe this early, although it has happened in the past with varying success.
However it plays out, the futility up north is always an entertaining sideshow to say the least. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

How bad can it get in edmonton, and why hasn't Lowe been fired by now? Did he save the owner's life or something?

If they get beat by Calgary on Saturday that may be a tipping point. The fact that the Flames have been better than them so far this year is a sore spot so a lose there could rattle some cages.

So ... winning would be awesome, but losing may prevent the tipping point and allow for much more entertainment down the line.
hmmm, tough choice.
Wait, no it isn't, beat their asses Flames.

Lol
Oiler fans actually blaming Eakins for Yaks crappy play.
I know fans often ignore reality with their own players but that is hilarious ignorance by them.

So I think something much more interesting to follow is just how much impact playing the pathetic Oilers had on their play and if that is the turning point of their season. Makes a lot more sense and the numbers sure show it wasn't the Washington game.
Record prior to Oilers game: 9 out of a possible 30 points
Record after Oilers game: 9 out of 9 points

I still believe that the rumor that any one of them could be traded to the Oilers made them all play harder... hell, it would make me play harder.

One of Edmonton's biggest problems right now is that nearly everyone is handcuffed due to the salary cap being artificially low. 18 teams have less than $1 million in cap space and 23 less than $3 million. Nobody has room to move right now, so the only way Edmonton can really trade a big ticket player is to get another big contract back.

It is a terrifying thought for a regular joe to have to move to that cesspool to have to move their and play for that clown show would be horrific.

And usual "big contract" players have NMC's, and aren't going to waive to go to Edmonton and the disaster that Lowe's created, when there are 28 other options.

I think he's just the product of his environment... a crappy environment. If he were to stick with Anaheim, I'm sure he would be brought up like Cam Fowler, or even better.
