That's a great point but I have little to no interest in adopting another format of physical media. The more important thing for me that I can see using in the near future is 4K sources from things like Netflix and Youtube, which already exist and seem to be steadily rising. That's why I chose to get a 4k tv right now.
I don't know much about HDR but if it is only being displayed on the new blu ray format, I still think I'm good for a while without it. (Would Netflix be able to display it?).
