Deleting my account to keep myself from responding to more of these weak arguments.
How is less inter-conference play going to make things more competitive? All that does is try to cover up the problem.

Don't be such a tease. JobHopper already said he was leaving and instead came back and pretended like his posts were directly influencing Jay Feaster.

To those that are proposing theories as to why the west is stronger than the east, the simple fact of the matter is that if those theories were true and valid, the west would consistently and continuously be stronger than the east.

And of course, that simply isn't the case.

It wasn't that long ago that the east was fairly dominant. In fact, for a long time, the west was weaker and there were all kinds of theories - budgets and travel being the dominant ones - as to why.

It is simply a cycle and in time we sill see it swing back the other way.

Look at the standings every 5 or 10 years for the last 40 years, it ebbs and flows.

Edit: the first one I looked at (random draw) was 20 years ago. The top 5 teams were:

Rangers
Devils
Penguins
Wings
Leafs

Long travel times. Ever notice when you sit in a plane, how you feel your body getting stronger?

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, it should be working out really well. It puts butts in the seats at games, which fits the NHL's business model of making money.

I'm done trying to explain this to people who won't do a minute of research and instead just put words in my mouth.

Sorry your head is too thick to get around this concept. Maybe if you spent more time in the hockey forum you would realize this. By the way, nice job speaking for ALL hockey fans not being one yourself. I'll bet 10 dollars that your a fringe NHL fan who is in love with Crosby and can't stand the thought of seeing less of him.

Good post, keep it up fella.

Looking at your post history, I think you should stick to posting in the off-topic forum. I haven't seen a single post with any hockey insight or proof that your an actual hockey fan.
To be honest, and blunt, I don't think you'll be missed by "deleting" your account. The tone/language that you're using is pretty rude, and borders the line of personal attack.

I say keep it the way it is and let the season play out. We can all share stories of how wacked this season was in April, and beyond.

So, if Pittsburgh was in the western conference they would be on the outside looking in. Unbelievable.

It's becoming like the WHL vs. QMJHL. Two different leagues who although are the same age and similar skill level, play two entirely different games.

Well after following up a few days later I do see that I am not alone in that your idea is very poor.

More limited appearance of half the players in the league has not gone over well, but you won't admit it. But continue to think all we want is Crosby(speaking of putting words in somebodies mouth) and insult me personally it really adds to your view.

Is there some way that I can possibly prove my "real fan" hockey knowledge and lack of Crosby love that would satisfy you? I mean you made the bet what are the rules? Surely you weren't just spouting off with no idea how to settle this bet? I mean what kind of guy goes on line makes personal assumptions about somebody with no way of proving it? To me that would seem like a really silly post to make.

I have an idea maybe I can send you my 4 decades of playing hockey pics with jerseys from the 70's WHA days or later?
maybe a tix stub from the game I saw Bobby Hull play Gordie Howe?
If you like, I remember where I was in 72 for game 8?
Maybe I can show you ticket stubs from around the league and Centre Ice subscriptions.
I can show you my ticket that I paid over 500 bucks to see the opener in Winnipeg?
If my midget AAA coach was still alive I could get him to call you but maybe his widow will remember me?
If you want I will be up in Edmonton tonight at the Hawks game on the red line, 17 rows up, club class, come and say hi. They are only $280 a seat tickets so I must be a fringe fan. I forget who does Crosby play for? I really must remember so I can not give away the season tix for that game.

You let me know cause I would really like to collect that 10 bucks and give it to some donation box. Just let me know where to meet I will be there.

and this would be why I stay off the hockey forum it gets wrecked by "real fans" like yourself
