Lots of positives tonight compared to what the naysayers thought was going to happen. Hopefully it will inspire them tomorrow. Happy Sven got a chance in the SO, disappointed with the result.

Ramo was horrible on the breakaway and the shoot out, I mean, bad. It's fixable but I wouldn't call a goalie posting a sub .900 save percentage very good by any means. Still, he did look better than I thought he would.

Welcome to my bad books T.J. Galiardi. That penalty was embellished but there was no need to even put his glove in his face.

He was 44% which isn't good. And he isn't physically strong enough to make an impact yet. I think it's better for him and the team to have him spend the year in Ottawa.

18 year olds should be getting 25+ minutes in their NHL debut!

Considering the experts had Flames fans worried we were going to get routed 5-1. The worst team in the NHL according them, We got a point

I think the best Flame tonight was Stempniak. He was fantastic along the boards.
Stajan was the worst Flame. Handled the puck like a grenade, couldn't make 5 foot passes.
|
How about giving them credit for the great push back after the Caps tied the game. They dominated the end of the game and OT. With a few breaks they could have won this game
We would never have seen that type of push back from last years Flames!

blowing 3 goal lead is just bad. while breakouts, transition and offensive zone play was ok defensive zone play and faceoffs were brutal.

I thought this place would be bearable in the rebuilding years. You guys are worse than Oiler fans... I'm pretty sure they made it past game 1

Yeah, not sure how anyone can call Ramo's play tonight "very good." Loss isn't on him, but he didn't help them steal a point either...

Better yet we're one point ahead of the Oilers in the standings

Doesn't matter who he's facing a .897 sv% isn't good enough. It's the exact same goaltending this team got last year. It's just one game though but he has to be better if this team is going to be better than the predictions.

I'm happy with that, but not happy that they lost the game after securing a 3-0 lead.
Hartley can't go into the dressing room and pat players on the back after this one.

given early fluke 3 goal lead this outcome is basically the same as 5-1.

Entertaining game and I was really impressed with our forwards, so I'm happy.
It'll be nice when our defensive prospects force their way onto the team to replace the placeholders (Butler, O'Brien mainly).
