It's funny though, I think a player like Iginla would be ideal for the current Flames. Not just because of organizational need or the past connection. Instead, to have a model and professional who knows the game and has had the pressure of carrying an entire organization himself for years.

When Iginla was in his prime he was a great player who was leading by example on the ice.
However, I don't think he was much of a leader in the dressing room in the last couple of years. Playfair sort of mentioned that as well.
I think it is for the best that he has moved on.
Iginla’s refusal to play in the D-zone and disappearances for long stretches are not great examples to follow.
