This mornings Stamps v Riders segment with Peterson was painful. Calgary radio station turned into a green circle jerk. Probably 85%-15% Riders bias with those 2 talking.

I find it interesting that Calgarians get put off when our radio personalities show even a slight homer bias. Rod Peterson is one of the biggest homers of all time. Beyond homer... A homer troll is the best way I can describe him and Rider fans love him.

I didn't mind Walker at all.

But it must suck to move around the country for a radio job. There are probably like a dozen radio guys in the country who get paid what it would be worth to be nomadic.

Sad to see him go, he handled Boomer and Rhett really well and his sarcastic style was perfect for the morning show. Player profile, that's stupid and recently sweet tweets were all good. Certainly the fan struggled to put something together in the AM after Richards left but I think Boomer, Rhett & Walker really started to work over the past year. I think it's a no brainier at this point, Pinder goes in to replace Walker.

Wonder how him & Boomer did in the cancer ride this weekend after soliciting all those donations from listeners?

Oh wait, they pansied out to play golf according to Walker's twitter feed. Way to support the cause. Good riddance.

If memory serves they were soliciting for Simmer.

Really? That's brutal. Was it held/organized by the Fan960 or just something they decided to do on their own?

They do seem to be a good incubator to TO destined talent, no doubt.

I still miss Mike Richards on 960. He seems more of a jerk since he left though and I don't watch/listen to his shows anymore.

If that's true it's pretty sad. I think Walker has a good radio voice, is fairly knowledgeable about sports, and has potential but man is he ever immature.

I could give two craps about whether the person I donated money to actually does the bike ride....not really what its about.

It's not like they bought a condo in Invermere with the donations.

I think Walker would be a great sports news guy, as his voice and delivery was top notch. The updates he did were very well put together. I think a morning show, where personality is key, was a poor fit for him. We get it, you are apathetic and don't care about stuff, the shtick gets a little old. I'll take Steinberg's enthusiasm for Calgary sports 10 times out of 10 over a guy who seems like he would rather be in bed than talking about a Calgary team.

Hey guys- a few things,

Thx for listening- the show has had huge ratings the last year, and it's why I'm heading East. We've had fun bringing it to you.

Good job on posting on this forum- I honestly check it everyday to see what the fan base is talking about. Get show topics from it all the time, no doubt.

I have thick skin, so I just chuckle off the rip-jobs, but I'm not sure i can sit here and let this "bike race" stuff slide.

We raised 10 grand on the show for cancer, and of course the ride was postponed because of the flood. By the time it was rescheduled, our team (simmer- out of country) boomer (holidays-out of province) and myself (selling everything I own to move across the country on short notice) we just couldn't make it work.

Talk to you all on twitter. Thx

Walks

Good luck Walks...all the best in TO even though i feel sorry for you in having to live in that city...i hated it myself when younger.

Good opportunity though, and remember us little folk back in Calgary when you are doing a segment on TV will ya?

I listed to some of the show this morning, and I think Walker leaves a big hole. Some of the "thats stupid" points were just hilarious, and combined with the fact that they actually spend most of the show talking about sports, it made for a good morning program.

I could've done without a lot of the bits, but to each their own.

Good luck in TO Walker. I hope it works out well for you.

Thank God, now when are they going to get rid of that other brainless guy Boomer? Sometimes I wish I could use profanity on here, cuz "brainless guy" is being much too nice.

The best "that's stupid" for me is the grown men who pull out the white Velcro wallet, "go buy yourself something that's leather either brown or black"

The fat kids swimming with T-Shirts was pretty hilarious. Sort of cringe-worthy, but that's what I like for comedy.

I liked Walker in the beginning. He seemed extra pissy as he ended his tenure.

Steinberg is OK but if he calls Francis "franchise" one more time I am going to put my foot through my radio.

I think he is a talented sportscaster that was just not one of us.... he had the typical Edmonton/Saskatchewan mind set.. he wasn't from here and I understand that , maybe when he matures a little he will get that you do not constantly #### on the home teams you are covering because no matter how good you are at your job people will eventually get sick and tired it... good luck with your new job Andrew and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out ......
