I'm with you man. Feaster should totally be saving those contracts for one of those non-dubious undrafted players.

I really like the idea that Feaster and Weisbroad are creating healthy competition regardless of whether they land in Calgary or Abby.
For too too long guys would just show up to camp and walk in and really have nothing to prove or be accountable for.
I have been watching this team since 1986 and cannot recall seeing this much healthy competition in such a long time ....if ever at all.
To those of you posting as people who were actually at development camp I thank you for the positive and knowledgeable people you are.....instead of the others that dont actually contribute to these threads and are just so negative.
Calgary Puck never used to be like this and it bothers me that after seeing such a great community respond the way allot of you did ...helping flood victims and just being all around awesome people that the dinks that wanna be dinks on here are still and always be just dinks.
Keith
PS...dont be a dink ...be a fan
This guy will obviously contribute in some way.

Well said to everything stated above. It's exciting seeing these younger players compete for a spot on the team. Now that our roster isn't loaded with established veterans, maybe we'll start seeing a team that competes every night. Lets give the kid a chance to show what he can do before we judge him either way!

I see this team sucking. If we can end up with Ekblad/Reinhart then it'll be worth it

The top 3 in this draft year are disappointing so I'd rather not suck.

All of Reinhart, Nylander and Ekblad have more potential than Monahan, so if we can add one of them, I'd be thrilled.

Jooris' father played collegiate hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the mid 1980's, including during RPI's 1985 NCAA championship season alongside Adam Oates.
The coach at RPI at that time?... Mike Addesa, now on the scouting staff for the Flames.

Wasn't Drouin not even rated yet at this point last year? Seems a little early to call the top 3 "disappointing".

I like how Feaster is stocking on young players. It reminds me of the old saying that if you throw enough crap at the wall that something is bound to stick.

The very worst top 3-pick in the last 12 years have been Erik Johnson and Zach Bogosian......
these would both be top line players for the Flames.
There are no bad years for a top-3 pick.

I am pumped, wish the season would start now. Can't wait to see these kids.
Frankly, pre-season has me a little more excited than season start so I can see some of the Abby bound guys play against NHLers.

Didn't Joe Juneau play on that team as well?

Is Erik Johnson not the #1 defenceman on a team that finished below the Flames?
The top 3 in the 2014 draft are not that good. Lindholm and Monahan would likely push for 1st pick in the 2014 draft.
