I think the Sens will have a better team than Detroit next year, funny move by Alfie.

From the perspective of reaching out to Sens fans, that conference call was a PR disaster.

The coolest part of this is Sens and Red Wings are now divisional rivals, so it should be some fun games to watch next year.

Proof positive that just because you played in the NHL doesn't mean you'll make a good TV analyst. Half of the guys in the league have no idea what is going on in the other conference.

Glad Alfie decide to go and pursue a Stanley Cup, he for sure deserves one.

Listening to Bryan Murray right now, it seems like alfredsson never considered coming back to the sens. Wasn't much of a contract negotiation between the two.

Haha, ya I just tried too, no dice. I did it months ago, wish I could remember how I got it dude. I'm not very tech savvy. If you ever find it, let me know how to turn off that CP Android App sig too

So you're telling me that no other Senators players, if asked at home by their wives if they were likely to win the series once they were down 3-1, would say 'probably not'?
I just find it a joke how we expect professional athletes to pretty much lie 80 per cent of the time they open their mouths. 110 per cent, guys in the room are all great buddies, couldn't be happier with the trade, coach makes the decisions and I just need to do my job, that's a great team over there, the fans in this city are the best, I'll be happy playing with whoever I'm told to, nobody's giving up on this thing, we just need to take it one period/game at a time, it's our fault for letting the coach down, it's not about the money, there are no individuals on this team, etc. etc. etc.

No doubt. Not sure why there are posts questioning the Red Wings as a contender. The eventual Cup champs just got past Detroit by the skin of their teeth.

No one "deserves" a Cup. Being in the league 15+ years and having a good career doesn't mean that your name should be automatically etched on Lord Stanley as a given. It's a team sport. Is it nice to see a player finally get his Cup on his last year ala Ray Bourque, Andreychuk ? sure is. However, seeing guys leaving their teams after 17 years to roll the dice on winning the Cup with no guarantee on another team is a disturbing trend sadly. Good for the player I guess, but sad for the loyal fans.

I don't expect any of that.
I do find it deflating when your leader goes out and says nah we can't do this. It's disheartening. I know if my Boss said "nah, we can't reach the goal" I'd just give up. If the leader thinks you're done, it's brutal.
Alfie has always been a bit of a weirdo though.

Where's that one OP who started a thread saying that Alfie would never do a thing like this?
