The cap hit, amazingly enough, doesn't really matter. Dallas isn't going to be spending to the cap, so its the real dollars that matter for them. Even so, $7 mil over two years...

Horcoff isn't a bad player, he had a bad contract. $3.5 a year (cash) is maybe a little high for him, but he's a decent 2 way player. He got hurt last year, and the Oilers were worse without him.
If Dallas isn't spending to the cap, it isn't a bad deal... depending on the other pieces
