For the record, I had the Flames 4th last year in a similar analysis.

Top 10 NHL 2012 Draft Team Performances

Although I did admittedly almost have an emetic episode when I saw I had the Oilers at 3rd - must have been NHL Draft Withdrawal Syndrome majorly kicking in and giving them way too much credit for having the 1st overall pick. I did like a couple of their latter picks, but Moroz was less than stellar (and I knew it at the time, or thought I did).

Personally I think the Canucks are ranked too high. I didn't think they had that great of a draft overall, especially after the first two picks. I would say Winnipeg, Montreal, Edmonton and CBJ all had better drafts and should make up the top 5. Calgary should be a couple of spots higher in my opinion (around 7/8) but that could also just be my biased opinion.

Of course these are so hard to predict so soon. Only time will tell I guess.
Thanks GIWI.

Believe me, it did internally trouble me to have the 'Nucks that high as impartial as I try to remain.

Beyond Horvat (in the rankings, it was about the players drafted, not trades made) and Shinkaruk I liked Cole Cassels, Jordan Subban (where they were able to land him). Late rounder Miles Liberati has very nice potential and my OHL colleagues tells me he's a breakout candidate next yr. 5th round Swedish blueliner Anton Cederholm also can play - more of a defensive dman.

Can't wait for Flames development camp!
