We are getting pretty good value for our 4ths.

Wasn't Johnny Hockey a 4th rounder too?

Yeah, he played the left side during 5on5 but was on the Sharks 2nd PP unit as the centre there, the Sharks loaded up Marleau - Thornton - Couture on the first pp unit.

Good pick up, very pleasantly surprised.

I was a little shocked he was only 24 to start last season, it seems like the guy has been around forever.

Anyone think if there's truth to the Seguin rumour, and our stockpile of LW's that maybe Sven is part of what's being offered? Would you trade Sven and Gaudreau for Seguin? Not enough? Add Backlund as he wasnt been QO yet? Use our LW position even though its Sven, to add that calibre at C?

Definitely. My only concern is that where do we fit all of these 2nd/3rd line centres.

Backlund, Knight, Galiardi, and Stajan all seem to be 2nd/3rd liners. I guess the hope is that one of them ups their game and emerges as a 1st liner. Stajan is gone by the end of the year anyways.

That's a definite win of a trade for Feaster. Not sure what Wilson is doing, SJ's cap situation etc, why do they give him up for so little?

I think this was a reactionary move, albeit a good one. Sounds something like Galiardi was on the market suddenly, and Feaster / Weisbrod wanted to jump on it and grab a great energy player whose still young enough to fit in with the new team image. The fact that TJ is a left winger suggests to me that Feaster made a quick decision on this one.

LW is what?

Cammy
Glencross
Galiardi
Sven
Hudler
Cammy to rw. Problem solved. I am fairly certain he played rw with la and with mtl.

Nope.

Not this year anyway. Sven should have full-on top6 & powerplay minutes with Tanguay gone, need to see what he can actually do.

Hudler also played a fair bit of RW last season.

Love this trade. Anytime you can flip a 4th rounder for an established young player, thats a good thing. Had no idea he was from Calgary either. Fans will love him next season.

Weisbroad: Great pickup Jay, but now we have another left wing.

Feaster: Yes, so now he can play the opposite wing of Baertshi or Cammy.

Weisbroad: No, Jay, they are both left wingers too.

Feaster: But when I asked you about him you said he was a left winger.

Weisbroad: Exactly, you're getting your lefts and rights mixed up again.

I hope not. Looks like a lateral move to me. If we are going after Seguin, hopefully it's a few lesser assets in exchange for him.

Also, I think people are making too much out of the LW/RW thing. You can move a young player to the off wing. If we end up in a situation where we have 2 young first line left wingers, it's not a huge problem to fix. Cammalleri is not here long term either. I also think we trade Hudler before Stempniak.

So Lines potentially look like:

Sven-Backlund-Cammy

Hudler-Stajan-Stempniak

Glencross-Knight/Monahan-Jones

Bouma-Reinhart/Knight-Jackman

EDIT: Confirmed its a 2015 4th round pick. Grand Larceny.

Even more EDIT: Where the fudge does Galiardi slot there? Someone is going.

I would try and do something like:
Backlund, cammy ( keeping 3m) gaudreau, and a second.

But yeah if they wanted Sven and jonny I would do that in a second.

Imagine seguin, monahan top 2 centers....

Conroy: Two lefts do not make a right.
