Calgary will trade their 28th for 2 picks to avoid putting so much pressure on the guy. Remember this is a pick they receive from Iggy's trade. Also I heard they don't have a 2nd round pick and no 4th round pick.
Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH21s Flames GM Jay Feaster: "A lot of interest on the pick we just made ... we had a strategy coming in and we're going to stick to it." #PNdraft
"We're going to make the too-clever-by-half pick we were planning on even if an elite prospect drops, and we could have gotten the same guy with our next pick."
Seriously, this is incredibly stupid. It's like saying you won't use an umbrella in a rainstorm because you heard it would be sunny.

I'm glad we passed on Shinkaruk. When interviewed he was asked if, being from Calgary, his family were Flames fans. "Nah, we cheered for a number of teams."
Fittingly this D-bag goes to the Canucks.

Poirier recorded four goals and three assists in six games to lead the 13th-ranked Olympiques to a first-round upset of the fourth-ranked Rimouski Oceanic. He finished the 2013 QMJHL playoffs with 10 points in 10 games (6-4--10).
• In 2012-13, Poirier led Gatineau in goals (32), assists (38) and points (70), averaging 1.08 points per game and improving his plus-minus rating to even, up from minus-17 in 2011-12.
This guy is going to be terrible because the scouts at TSN and Central scouting who aren't good enough to find gigs on actual teams think he's ranked lower.

Offensive forward with size and speed to burn with great hands. You can't teach speed and skill. Hunter isn't skilled he's just a energy player, who cares if he's from Calgary.
