Why would they want Gaudreau? Think about how Boston plays, he doesn't fit.

Will admit to not following seguin closely. But the Bs want to trade him because of cost/performance and we want to trade the farm for him?

The more I think about it, the more Gaudreau + 22 + 28 in a draft this deep is fair payment.
Not every day other teams looking to trade can get their hands on two 1sts for a player. (of any caliber)
Regardless, we might have a chance at this!!!

Two teams at different states of existence. Problems existing in Boston don't exist here.

Boston College player. Icon in the area. Marketable for them. Also heard he's a pretty good hockey player.

Top scorer in the WJCs will score you some bonus points as a prospect with any team, too.

Also he absolutely waives to play here.
He will be first line. He gets to play against Hall. Flames fans are best in the league. Players love Hartley.

The idea that you need all 20+ players to play the exact same style is foolish.
Rich Peverly, David Krejci. Two guys who aren't physical or bruisers by any stretch of the imagination by play well with Boston.

why would Boston trade a dollar for 2 quarters, 2 dimes, and a nickel
they don't want quantity back it makes no sense, they want quality back

my first take was, heck, throw the farm and 1st's to get seguin.
but now, i think that i'd probably avoid trading too many assets to get seguin. the flames are void of anything solid at virtually every position, other than maybe baertchi being a top 6 LW. other than that, who knows. we gotta be patient. No point filling the top center position, when there is virtually nothing else on the roster.
flames management need to be patient and avoid the desire to quick fixes like this.

They liked him in his draft year (as per Weisbrod). He plays in Boston currently and thus is probably hyped by their own fan base. Boston could sell Gaudreau being a major component of a trade to their own fans more easily than any ither team in the league. He has a lot of skill and is a great prospect. Just cause they love powerforwards doesn't mean they wouldn't covet Johnny Hockey.

Yep, in many ways, the more players you have who already play tough and physical, the more you can actually take a chance on someone like Gaudreau. Just like when you have a bunch of soft skilled guys, you need to add some toughness....not more soft skilled guys.

Top 3 pick and other R1 pick. RT @SullysPOV: @GlobeKPD In regards to Seguin #TradeTalks, what do you think Bs are looking to get in return?

He's a good player, but he's really not looking like that 30-60-90 player I thought he would be. Plus he's already off his ELC.
To get a player like him, a team like the Flames would have to vastly overpay. I don't want to do that.

Here's a Boston writer on the rumour, for what it's worth
http://www.csnne.com/blog/bruins-tal...-offers-seguin
"...a top-10 first round pick in this year’s draft would most certainly have to part of the trade package.
Any deal for Seguin would almost certainly include an All-Star level roster player as well..."

Many reports that Boston covets Gaudreau (and why wouldn't they)
As someone said, not all 22 players have to be the same mold
In fact, from Gaudreau's perspective, Boston is the perfect team as he would be less likely to be abused
