O'Brien? Ugh.

Feels like a pretty meh trade to me as I thought Tanguay had more value and I always loved Sarich. Jones adds some size I guess.

I like this trade, Jones was buried in Colorado, he will have a lot of opportunities here in Calgary.

I haven't watched enough Av's games to know how good/bad Jones is. Lets hope the 27 goals wasn't a fluke and he turns into Comeau v2.0.

Jones is the kind of guy we've been asking for on our team. Big body guy who goes to the net and has a decent shot. Plus being RW, in his prime of 28, he's had 45 and 37 points before a weird season of just 9 in 33.

Caphit and term were probably the reason the Avalanche were willing to make the deal, but Jones is a player who should immediately add to the team.

No reason to be upset or too excited about this.

Jones needed a fresh start after a bad year. The cap hit sticks out like a sore thumb but we have the space and not going to be a cap team anyways. I'm not too upset over this.

At least Feaster didn't give up a first for SOB like he did in Tampa.

Not going to lie. I don't like the trade. Would rather have gotten a 2nd for Tanguay. But eh. Adding two younger and bigger players isn't a bad thing. But Jones' contract scares me.

SOB is great if you need guys to play a trip to Vegas at the end of the season.....

so in that sense the Flames won that part of the deal

Terrible trade.

David Jones has a $4 million hit until 2016? That sucks. We might as well have just reacquired David Moss for that. Virtually the same players.

And Shane O'Brien is downright terrible. Not an upgrade on Sarich.

We got a little younger, but not better and don't save any cap space.

So we take on salary, and give up the best player in the deal? Awful. Avs fans wanted Jones bought out, they're ecstatic they got this for him. Another classic Feaster move. And his love in with SOB continues. This time he didn't give up a first though thankfully.

I liked Sarich, but dude is pretty much done. This is basically Tanguay for O'Brien and Jones. Not a stunner, but a decent return, I think. Certainly makes us bigger, and Jones does have offensive potential.

I would have liked to see some kind of pick coming our way, tbh. The Avs got the more valuable players in this deal. But I guess it's par for course with Jay Feaster running the phones.
Sarich could have gotten an asset 2 deadlines ago, but the flames chose to keep and re-sign him.

I guess sarich waived his NMC to go to Colorado.

Not a great trade -- the Jones contract is as bad as Tanguay's.

Seems like a full house cleaning is in full effect.

Couldn't really see Sarich staying here if the Flames are getting younger.

Was unsure about Tanguay's future as well.

Jones has potential.

Jones was a college kid so I wonder if Weisbrod had some familiarity with him. Seemed to get statically better each year and then had a set back this year. Hopefully it works out. Getting lots younger and bigger. I like it.
