I think his point totals are cut down to at least 60% playing for the Flames next season. He also had injury problems the last couple of years. Another reason to avoid him.

Pit is not going to move Letang. He has a year left and they will extend him sometime next season for max years at 6.5m per.

I am laughing at the suggestion on the first page of flipping letang -why would he sign a non-trade deal???

The way he played in the playoffs, forget it. Sure he's a skilled d-men, but holy crap, he's afraid to get into the corners when it comes put push and shove. Cripes the Flames have a lot of those types of d-men. What the Flames needed and they traded away was Regehr. What a shame. At one point in the past 10 years, most offensive forwards would look around going into the Flames zone and see if they're gonna get decked. Now, for the last 4 years, they just waltz in and score. The Flames need d-men who can scare the crap out of opposition forwards. They also need pointmen who can shoot the puck and hold the line. Letang looks good when he can freewheel like the rest of the Pens in regular season, but in the playoffs, they nearly got knocked off by the Islanders.

I hate when people say we still need Reghr... Sure he was tough but that was years ago. Now people just skate by him. The flames need a young, fast, hard hitting dman. When I think of who the flames should go after I think more of Dumba from Minny. Saying we need Reghr back is like saying we need dion back, it only makes sense if we can get them back in their prime.

I agree that we should not go after Letang though
