Because if there's one thing the Flames lineup needs, it's a small winger!

Briere can play center as well, can he not?
Probably a better option down the middle then Tanguay and Cammalleri.

I don't care how small he is so long as he plays with energy, passion, and heart. This is exactly the kind of player the flames need as they are the types of players that build a winning culture.

You talking about Briere? Briere is a bit like Cammalleri. All heart in the playoffs but streaky and can be apathetic in the regular season, especially when it comes to backchecking and defensive play.

Streit's agent, Pat Brisson will begin negotiations with Paul Holmgren today. A 4 year deal is the target.
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 5m
Sorry, meant to say $4M to $5M range that Streit will be looking for. He was making $4.1M per year on his expiring contract.

Didn't read all of the thread, but does this make our Wideman deal look better? I think it does.
Similar stats, but Wideman is 6 years younger, and everyone craps on the Wideman deal...I think this will be interesting to see how brilliant the Flyers are for this, but how stupid the Flames were for Wideman, and how near the end of his deal, when he will be younger than Streit is now, his deal will be terrible...

Add to that the cap mess they are in, paying out Bryz and Briere can only make the situation optically worse than the Flames signing Wideman.
