Imo the logo on the right with the black outline looks really good.

If they did something with that on the front of the jersey but without the stupid circle containing text (WAY overdone) then it would be pretty decent.

The Dallas Cowboys are primarily known for their plain ol' star. The Stars doing the same thing wouldn't of been more bold at all.

Anyways, I'm excited for a team using green as their primary colour again

The Texas Stars (AHL affiliate) unveiled new jerseys last week.

There's way too much gold on their current logo and jerseys. This looks much cleaner.

Prefer green and silver to green and gold by a huge margin.

And will probably look nothing like that ^, there are so many awesome concepts out there. How can some random guy on the internet come up with way better designs then the professionals?

Meh, those would honestly look pretty terrible in real life. I find that a lot of the jerseys that people on the internet rave over aren't that great. It was the same thing with those awful glorified practice jerseys that someone came up with for the Flames a couple of years ago. Everyone was raving about how amazing they were and how the Flames need to use them.

I almost wish some teams would take concepts like that Flames one and this Stars concept and just make one set and let a player skate arond the rink with it so people could go "oh, yeah that's not that great now that I see it in action."

Meh, they look like they'd be a pretty solid jersey IMO.

They would look okay, but I was responding to the idea that they are "beautiful" and that internet design guys are always so much better than NHL design guys.

Okay, well when I said that I was more talking about the teams with god awful jerseys (Colorado, Dallas for now) and how random people on the internet come up with better designs. But for the most part the concepts that I find fantastic are usually just modernized retros like Calgary, Washington, St.Louis, and Philly.

I don't know why it wouldn't look good, it's nearly the same as the Blackhawks jerseys but green with black shoulders

They are very classy old timey looking jerseys to me

It looks good to me. Never really minded any of the older Dallas jersey's either. Except for that one that had the Houston Texans logo on it. That was terrible.

Curious to see what the Flames have up their sleeve for their new thirds.

Can't stand the circle and Dallas Stars lettering on the home jersey. I really hate when the logo on home jerseys differs from the logo on away jerseys.

That submission is a good jersey design overcoming the limitations of a bad logo. I am not confident that whomever the Stars paid to design the actual jerseys will achieve the same.

Yeah, if someone showed me those and said they designed them for their local beer league hockey team, I'd think they were really good. BUt for the NHL those are really meh, and the logo is terrible.

I always prefer wordmarks over logos. It sucks that Dallas is going away from what was one of the best jerseys in the NHL.

At least they're using a letterform as the primary component of their logo.

The best thing the NHL could do is mandate that all jerseys be wordmarks. Your home jersey would sport the nickname and the away would be your city. Logos would be reserved for shoulders, helmets, and center ice.
