I feel like there's something more to cheer for with the Pens when they're not steamrolling everyone, though it's appealing to imagine seeing them play with all their talent dominating like they could too.
Either way I expect the series with Ottawa to be fun to watch. Can't wait.

Go Iggy go pens! Bunch of cold-hearted, logical robots here who care more about a marginally better draft pick than the emotion of seeing a Flames legend getting his chance at a cup while playing for a team that is 10x better than anything this inept management ever gave him in his 1219 games here. Even if he was a guy like linden, it would be nice to see him win. But he's not - he's Jarome Freaking Iginla. Go Pens!

This series is going to come down to goaltending and for me the edge goes to the Sens.

I couldn't care less about our draft pick improving but between respecting loyalty over cup chasing and the Sens being the only other Canadian team I don't hate I will be rooting for Alfie/Sens. The only reason I would have wanted Iggy to win the cup is if it meant him getting it out of the system and playing out his career here at a discount. But with his house up for sale I doubt even if he wins the cup that he plans to come back and him winning the cup would have only meant something to me in a Flames jersey.

What about two draft picks though? A Senators win drops the Blues' pick down (or up or whatever) a spot as well.
I don't know, Iginla's not on his last legs here. He'll have other chances to actually earn the Cup from the start I think. Or at least that's how I'm going to justify cheering against him. Couple spots on the Penguins pick and a spot on the Blues pick in this draft is probably enough for me to root for the Sens.
Although if the Penguins win they better go all the way.

If we we're talking about the 30th pick suddenly becoming 1st overall then by all means, Go Sens. But I'm enjoying watching Iginla this post season and a couple spots late in the first round isn't that big of a deal.

Exactly. Despite what is being suggested in this thread, the value of this pick is not going to make or break the franchise.
Go Jarome.
Pens in 4

Penguins will dispose of these whiney crybaby senators.
Brian Murray is one of the biggest cry babies in the NHL.

Penguins are one of my least favorite teams in the league. I tried to change that when Iggy went there, but I can't enjoy cheering for them at all. So go Sens! The Walrus will lead them to victory!

Pens in 6. Go Pens.
Anderson might steal a game or 2 but in the end the Pens high end skill will be able to put enough by him to move on to the east finals.
The Pens are a whole different beast than the Habs. Karlssons defensive averageness is going to have major troubles in his defensive end in this series and will be exposed a bit being under constant pressure from world class offensive players.

My head still says to hope for the improvement of our Pens/Blues picks by every slot possible. It also says that I don't like the Pens that much, and that watching Iggy win a Cup with another organization is going to be bitter sweet.
My heart still says that it wasn't Iggy's fault that our inept management couldn't build a winner around him, and that the sweet would overcome the bitter in watching Jarome take a skate with the Cup this year.
I will say that in watching Pens games I do find myself inadvertently pulling for them even though I try not to at times.

I thought I'd be cheering for Iginla. Turns out I still can't bring myself to cheer for Pittsburgh and I can't say I particularly enjoy watching the type of game he plays these days.

Pulling for the Pens but I think Ottawa will take it in 7. Pens looked awful last night in my opinion and it wasn't the only game in that series where they made questionable plays. They won though, and that's what counts so I guess we'll see.

I think some of the pick talk is really just cover for jealousness of people not wanting Iginla to have success with anyone else if he can't have success with us, but we won't find out for sure until they're still trotting that story out once the Penguins pick is guaranteed to be #29 or #30.
Ottawa will rough them up, but I expect the Penguins to take this in 5 if they stick with Vokoun. If Fleury starts game 1, it will probably take Pittsburgh 7 games to win the series.

Better than way too much money and sacrificing the franchise's future to build around him? And you want to talk about inept management? No team that sucks their way to the top deserves credit for anything and Pittsburgh is the definition of that.

Please go look at the history of draft picks between 25-30 and tell me there's a noticeable difference.

Exactly. Once you get to 25 all of the guaranteed picks are taken. It comes down to the GM and Scouts' preference.
Go Iggy Go
