Jays get a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st..........Romero goes on to give it right back. 2-2, bases loaded for the Rays, none out. This could get real ugly, real early.

3-2 Rays now, bases loaded, 1 out...........Romero gets the hook.

Brutal showing for Ricky.

Gonzalez comes in and gets 2 quick outs and ends the inning. Very lucky to come out of that only down by one.

What happened with Romero? Was it the blister again or did he just get the hook?

What happened to Romero though? Seriously what a colossal drop off in play. It's got to be a large part in his head though. He was one of the top you lefties in the AL, now he is terrible. Wasn't expecting that.

Not to defend him because he was terrible but the first run scored on a ball that Davis probably could of had if he had dove for it. There were also two seeing eye singles that snuck through. He was still terrible, but it wasn't like he was getting crushed. Still a great call by Gibby to get him out of there before things got out of control.

I agree with Zaun. Romero never had the greatest stuff, he had great confidence but he lost that. I don't know if he can get it back.

Rick Ankiel all over again it looks like, though it wasn't as dramatic 2 week meltdown like he was in the 2000 NLDS and NLCS, it was over a few months last year.

Can they just get rid of Romero already. Plus get out there and find anybody who can at least throw some strikes for three or four innings. Always seems like one or two injuries just submarines this club. Where the heck is their depth?

Too lazy to get a link, but Romero sent to Buffalo(AAA), so now there are 2 holes in the rotation.

And the guy who came in to relieve him, Gonzalez, has been DFA.

They selected the contracts of Ortiz and Storey.

Bring back Carlos!

But seriously, doubt a trade is in the works. One more SP in not the answer to this season.

Davis steals 2nd and 3rd. Melky can't even put the ball in play.
