Meh............my son liked it and that made it worth the cost. I suspect he is their target audience

So i dont want to read the thread to avoid spoilers, so my question is this.
If i have time to see either Star Trek or Iron Man tonight, which is the better movie?

Star Trek, especially if you enjoyed the first one.

I really liked it. It was one of the first movies I've seen in 3D that I didn't find the 3D distracting at all. I thought that while there were some goofy scenes, it was a great action popcorn movie, with some good humour.
And key audiences for this film, kids/teens will eat this movie up. My little brother (13) absolutely LOVED this movie.

That would be interesting.

Saw it last night. I had to pee so bad i missed the post credits stuff. Will have to get that somehow.
Thought they would do more with the PTSD
Didnt mind the pepper twist until she became a super coordinated killer
Kept thinking that if pepper was in that much trouble he would have called for help
Liked that his playboy lifestyle bit him in the butt
5 /10

Saw it last night myself. It was OK. Did have one question though. Why did the suit he dragged around for half the movie require a recharge? I thought his suits were powered by the arc reactor in his chest?

Why? Well, probably the same reason there were about 10 other major lapses in logic. I didn't mind the movie but the plot holes and inconsistencies were a bit much. Plus it got really silly at the end.
I would give the movie 6.5/10, worth seeing because you've seen the 1st two.

Saw it with my seven year old last night at Chinook - he loved it. I thought it was a good film - not as good as the first but better than the second.

The writer's must have been reading CP when they wrote this.
They took Captain Crunch's parody theory of Bin laden and made it into the movie

Finally got around to watching this, and I'm mixed. Seeing all the different Iron Man suits from the comics was pretty cool, but I hate how they took one of the most powerful villains in the Marvel universe and made him a slap-stick gag. Also magically having Stark's army of suits show up at the end (instead of using them at any point earlier to make his life easier) reminded me way too much of the super battlesword from Pacific Rim
Thor 2 was a far better movie, and easily the best sequel that Marvel has made to date. Hopefully Captain America: Winter Soldier doesn't disappoint (at least the trailers look awesome)

They showed up at the end because that demo crew finally cleared the vault door that was obstructed by the house that fell down on top of it earlier in the show.

I haven't seen the movie since it first came out in theatres...but were the suits just waiting for that moment to move? I thought Stark pressed a button and they took off, so he wouldn't know the place was cleaned up enough by then.

Also the fact that they're an army of Ironman's and some rubble really shouldn't stop them from getting out.
These types of plot holes riddle pretty much every sci-fi/fantasy movie.
I do think IM3 is bad though. The twist with the Mandarin made me mad, but it made sense within the story. But the story just wasn't great.

I THINK he got a message for the foreman advising that they almost had the vault doors clear and that's when he activated them.

Rubble AND a vault door. A vault door designed my Tony Stark so I'm guessing they would be near impossible to break open.

Yeah, but you would hope Ironman could.

Agreed. This movie had some things that you just had to look past. The part I thought was really dumb was the fact he had to "plug in" his suit to recharge it. Thought that was odd.

I actually liked the Mandarin twist. I thought it was funny, and the not-so-subtle little piece of political commentary was served on the side without trying to pretend that it would somehow make the movie deep. "The terrorist threat is a scam, the really dangerous guys are the ones using it as a way to grab power. Now laugh at a silly British guy."
I thought it was one of the better parts about the movie actually, and that it fit the general tone of the current Marvel movies well. Then again I've never cared for Mandarin.
