Gibbons on MLB Radio...
- Talking selectivity at the plate: Been too aggressive, have a club that is gonna strike out a lot. Too anxious, chasing balls, putting themselves in holes. You give some of the better pitchers in the game the first strike, they become that much tougher. Late in game, don't want closers to get ahead of you neither. Can look at it different ways. Team has been too aggressive though, gives advantage to pitcher. If you get the pitch you are looking for, get after it. People are starting to press a little.
- Roster: Janssen has been perfect. Casey was on club during Gibbons first stint, never really looked at him as a closer type. Saw Soria in KC do the same thing with the same stuff. Now to see what Casey doing, it's not a surprise. Guy's with great command can do it, and are easier to watch. Still keeping an eye on his shoulder surgery.
Schedule: If you are good enough in the end, you'll be there. We are close to getting on a bit of a roll here.
Rats, missed the majority of it, and sorry for the scrambled notes - but it is what it is.
