The Kings win 4-3 in overtime, Carter with the winning goal. The win guarantees the Kings finish sixth place or better.

The Oilers are some kind of awful. Do they have no shame at all?

Yup. Bad shoulder Nuge, dumb guy Hall, Nail "I just scored the Stanley cup winning goal" Yakupov and Justine Schultz will lead you to greatness.

Greatness coming? Likely Gretzky's plane has to make a refuelling stop on the way to a NWT fishing trip later this summer, is my guess.

And, recall all the talk after the 8-2 running up of the score the night of the trade deadline, then the #### eating grins on Oiler players and fans that night?

The Flames are now ahead of them after today, and with that loss, Oilers are officially out of the playoffs, again.

No matter what side you are on with the Flames and finishing off the season re draft picks, let's always be greatful we are not ever at the level of failure up north.

So, as is tradition for me the past 7 years,

Finally, an Edmonton Sun article detailing the 7 years, and counting of gross ineptitude by Kevin Lowe.

It's not even funny anymore how delusional Edmonton fans are about their future, it's pathetic.

Being from Northern Alberta originally a few of my friends are Oilers fans, some of them are delusional though I think the guys convinced they will be in the mix in a couple years aren't out to lunch. Calling the "new dynasty" crowd delusional is probably fair - I find those are the total homers I can't really even have normal discussions about hockey with anyway though.

It's kind of a catch 22 up there - I hate to admit they are loaded with assets both on the team and in the prospect pipeline, but the flip side is they have a pack of complete idiots running the show and the structure of the team is just ridiculous.

Worst nightmare for me would be seeing them move one of their young stars for Shea Weber this summer.

Yeah fair enough, if they actually did the smart thing and got rid of Lowe and brought in someone smart, then they might actually have a shot at being a serious contender, but as long as Lowe is there they'll go nowhere. If they had half a brain they would trade one of their young guys for a potential top 2 Dman.

I like it as it's the original version. The Avs were first to have this song sent to them but glad to know the Oilers get it to. There are 10 teams that get to hear this and the Devils were also non-invites to the playoff dance on Sunday.

Here is the acapella version that I like and have used when teams lose in the playoffs.
